True. I've had the chance to live abroad as well and mas nakakainis lang kasi ang ugaling makapal dito. I guess nakakainis lang pag di ko ganun ka-feel ang makikisabay sakin tapos mauuna pa sayo sa pagbukas. I can picture your scenario if you're the last to get in coz you have to check if you locked the door of the house etc meaning you'll be riding with family or guests or friends you invited or welcomed to your home. My scenario or what I had in mind when I replied was officemates that I'm really not close with na nakikisabay.
But if it's a relative or friend ok lang sakin.

I deal with acquaintances the same way I deal with family and friends. Same drill. They're my responsibility. So, I worry more about their safety than who gets in first. Some people wait and get in at the same time I get in. But, if they get seated first and buckle up? Pfffft. No big deal. I don't even think about it.

When I have multiple acquaintances with me, the only decision-making is who gets to ride shotgun. Let them decide. First-come, first-serve. ;)
