The next gen GTO will be based on the same Zeta platform as the all-new 2008/9 Camaro.

The next Pontiac GTO replaces the Firebird as the Camaro's sister model.
I guess the Pontiac Firebird and the smaller new gen GTO might be positioned too close to each other.
The Zeta platform is the same platform that will be used by the all-new Holden Commodore and Monaro(?).
But this time expect unique outer skin instead of rebadged models. The American Zeta based coupes will go for a more retro look, while the Holdens will go for a more modern Opel-like styling.
