    this is the 1st time in along while that corolla sold more units than the civic (in america). last year the civic was no.8 (313,000 sold) and corolla no.11 (240,000). the civic in the US is sold in 4 variants- sedan,coupe, hathcback (Si) and hybrid. the corolla in 2 variants only, the sedan and hatchback (MATRIX).

    explorer used to be in the top 3 in the early 90's. although it went down to 6th because of the controversies it got, it's STILL the no. 1 med-side suv since it came out in the market in the late 80's.

    toyota made a big headway in australia and became the no.1 selling brand there last year, beating holden, GM's subsidiary. or so i read.
