CMIIW, but most of the local cars nowadays are being sold by their owners before the cars even reach the 100,000 KM mark, for practical reasons - to avoid maintenance headaches, fetch higher car resale value, upgrade to new models, etc.

on the other hand, there are people who decided to keep their cars running "forever" in their possession. this thread is for you.

please post the present KM reading and details of your car (model and brand, year of make, gas or diesel, etc.), including some tips and any modifications you did to keep your baby still going strong after enduring our not-so-ideal road conditions and all kinds of Pinas weather for so long.

does your car qualify to be included in the "Ang Tibay" Tsikot Hall of Fame? cheers!

our office frontier (one 2.7S which is near 6yo and another 2.7E which is 4yo) is now on the 175T km plus mark.

diesel workhorse, doing delivery and regular ahente rota...travelling 100km daily. Can still run above 140kph if needed...

no problems on the motor kahit minsan neglected (napapalagpas sa every 5,000km change oil and filter)...regular maintenance lang ng change oil and filters ang servicing nito halos.

most of the problems encountered on both are on the tranny (manipis na clutch lining), suspension (bushing, springs/dampers) and the steering joints (ball joints).

another workhorse is our delivery L300FB na lagpas 150T km and near 6yo... halos similar problems lang din with the fronty. The engine is still in good condition (ni hindi nga ito naging mausok ever since - surprising for a 4D56).

maintenance nito is simply the change oil and filter every 5,000km and replacement of the fuel filters as needed.
