i've seen 2 old kia prides with FORD Badge and Fiesta Badges at Q.ave. stopped for the red light.... at green. started to run fast and sound like a 4age and the other one has a turbo. maybe 4efte? (not surely but sounded like a toyota roar)
natulala lang ako after nun. state of shock ika nga.

Most of those sleeper Kias and Charades I know have Mazda and Ford engines ... and one with an SR20DE.

Yes, but the Lancer EX looks pretty aggressive as stock.
Take my EX as an example. Externally it looks pretty much like a stock Lancer EX GLS except for the 18 inch EX-GTA wheels. Under the skin, the suspension was already upgraded with coil-overs & adjustable shocks, the engine tuned with piggyback ECU, drop-in airfilter and performance headers. The ride height is only slightly lower than stock to retain a stock-like look.
Other Lancer EX units have had more extensive upgrades including turbochargers resulting in over 200hp.
