Sleeper cars are usually modified internally while externally is usually left untouched.

Example, Nissan Sentra Super Saloon with a SR20DET motor producing over 210hp, coil-over suspension set to stock height and 15" stock Nissan wheels with ADVAN tires.
    stock ones. like Lancer EX.?

i've seen 2 old kia prides with FORD Badge and Fiesta Badges at Q.ave. stopped for the red light.... at green. started to run fast and sound like a 4age and the other one has a turbo. maybe 4efte? (not surely but sounded like a toyota roar)

natulala lang ako after nun. state of shock ika nga.

literal na sleeper nga... Matutulog na yung kotse. hehehe

Most likely you read them wrong, must be Ford Festiva, which shares the same chassis and almost similar body with the Kia Pride and Mazda 121.

I understand identifying turbocharged engines by hearing the blow off (even non-turbos may have them), but how would you specifically know a Toyota roar?

Most of those sleeper Kias and Charades I know have Mazda and Ford engines ... and one with an SR20DE.

Yes, but the Lancer EX looks pretty aggressive as stock.

Take my EX as an example. Externally it looks pretty much like a stock Lancer EX GLS except for the 18 inch EX-GTA wheels. Under the skin, the suspension was already upgraded with coil-overs & adjustable shocks, the engine tuned with piggyback ECU, drop-in airfilter and performance headers. The ride height is only slightly lower than stock to retain a stock-like look.

Other Lancer EX units have had more extensive upgrades including turbochargers resulting in over 200hp.

Ito po pwede nag sleeper car.

Mitsu Triton 3.2 diesel AT stock engine and stock turbo 218Hp and 559 lbs of torque.
    22 psi boost at 2,800rpm.

That is with only one chip but now it runs around 250Hp and 600lbs of torque added another chip for the injectors. That is only estimate kasi hindi po pa ulit na papa dyno with the 2 chips. But i did beat around and play around with an SIR and Evo3 in the highway kala kasi nila dahil mataas at deisel walang power hehehehehehehehehe.

+1! based on experience, IMO, nothing beats a fully floored Accent Crdi driven by a fierced manong taxi driver as if there is no tomorrow. You could even hear the engine howling.....Scary!

Not quite. Kasi by definition, a sleeper car is:
a car that has high performance and an unassuming exterior. Sleeper cars are termed such because their exterior looks little or no different from a standard or economy-class car. In some cases the car appears worse due to seeming neglect on the owner's part, typically referred to as "all go and no show". While appearing to be a standard or neglected car, internally they are modified to perform at higher performance levels.
    from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeper_(car))

In the case of your pick-up, puede siyang magka-opposite effect. Dahil sa dami ng decals, iisipin ng marami na ito'y ricer, "all show & no go." Pag kinarera nila, dun na lang nila malalaman ma may ibubuga pala nito.
