i've had my turanzas for 2 years now and no problems whatsoever. it also provides good grip even at the edge. much better than my GY NCT3s in terms of comfort and road noise damping. wet grip is also considerably good.
How about the Avon Street CR338 Tires? are they any good? 195/50/r15. Are they better than the Yokohama S306's? Personally, I haven't really heard of the Avon tire brand. They're supposed to be made in Enland....like Doc Marten's:lol:
My friend canvassed today 185/65R14's. The Yokohoma S306 went for P1500 at DKC tires and the Brigestones Turanza S&S around P1900 i think.
Just a word of warning... never go to Miller Tires in West Avenue. I was just there this morning to accompany my friend in getting his tires (brigestone Turanza)... they quoted us good prices (1.8K for the Turanza's) but they still live up to the "sir oblong na yung gulong" scam which was told in the old forums on Kotse before. How the F*** can size 14 OEM ROTA rims become oblong in normal use??? And all the rims at that!!! Good thing we knew better and took our business elsewhere. We had LongMile balance the tires and nothing out of the ordinary came out.
I'll be sticking to my suking tindahan (DKC) for now when it comes to my tire needs...
hehehe...ako na oblong ko dati stock rims ko... pro d sa miller ko pinacheck...sa servitek...pinaangat tapos linagay sa D...gumegewang-gewang nga..
for a daily driver, ok ang S306. it's much quieter and more durable than the goodyear NCT3. other 195/60R14 tires available are the bridgestone turanza and dunlop lm702.
IMO, if you have the cash, get the turanza. if not, ok na yung s306.
i don't have the prices for the 195/60R14, but perhaps, for comparison, here are the prices for 185/65R14:
- s306 - 1,550
- turanza - 1,850
- lm702 - 1,850
