we have a running debate here in the office about the new 7's, Z4, and now the new 5's. some claim the design of chris bangle was meant to grow in you - angular and avant garde. some say though that it's just downright hideous and ugly (some say fugly).

for me, I like the following designs: bmw2002, E36, E46, E39, and the X5.

Its trying too hard to separate itself from the pack. It ended up being a caricature.

I long for the timeless beauty of teh BMW2002.

IMO it doesn't really "grow" on you, you just get used to it. A beautiful car for me is something that you know right away when you see it. And that, and some of Bangle's creations aren't. :x

This is most unfortunate, especially since the new Mercedes E-class is the most beautiful luxury sedan I have ever seen in my life:

...and especially unfortunate, since the 5-series is bound to become known as the best-driving luxury sedan (again)...

Ang tagal na ng 7 series and still I don't like it. It's too mechanical. Parang walang hint of emotion.

Now those, MB E-classes really make my heart flutter. :D

but have you guys seen an actual (e65) 7-series? in pictures maybe it looks hideous, but when it's standing beside you...

naybe we're not used to thhe idea that bmw has moved away from convention and went to the radical. for me the skin is nothing when the car drives fantastic!

Mukhang maluluma agad. Masyadong kampante itong si Bangle dahil alam niyang BMW ang tatak.

I had the opportunity to ride in one recently and to be 100% honest - the exterior really looks hideous. The good news is that the interior is extremely nice - gorgeous leather and wood everywhere, with the typical BMW ergonomics.

It does drive really nice, too - really tight handling (very similar, but not as sharp as, my 3-series) and mountains of torque...it just pulls and pulls and pulls...
