The GIII is a variant higher than the LM's (mas sport-oriented yung GIII's while the LM is a basic street tire)... I'd go with the GIII's.

February 3rd, 2006 03:45 PM #14Naisip ko rin yung Sport Maxx ng Dunlop pero mas mahirap maghanap kaysa LM702's, at tingin ko mas mahal siguro. I've heard good things about Dunlop na mataas ang treadwear rating at matagal talaga maupod. Di ko alam about Bridgestone. Mas gusto ko lang itsura nung tread pattern ng Bridgestone. I also considered Goodyear F1 GS-D3, pero laki ng price difference. And, by experience, maingay ang Goodyear.
Salamat sa lahat ng sagot!

Hi, I use a size 215/50/17 dunlop 702. This is priced at P5,500 each.
What I can say is that this tire is not so good. Madaling maupod. It only lasted about 20,000 kms on my car or about 2 years of normal use. Plus the traction is slippery as compared to a Bridgestone G3. Plus, Madali pang ma flat ito since masyadong malambot yung rubber. For a 17", madaling magasgas yung lip ng mags mo due to the design of the sidewall of the 702. Naka-expose masyado yung lip ng mags as compared to a traditional naka-lobo na sidewall.
The Bridgestone G3 of the same size cost about P6,400 but it lasts longer.

sa A/T tires, sobrang bilis mapudpod ng Dunlop and mabilis bumukol ang sidewall. and based on edl100's experience, mukhang ganun din sa car tires.

February 3rd, 2006 10:48 PM #18Salamat ed/100. I always thought na mas mabilis maupod yung Bridgestones kesa Dunlops. Yung Potenza RE050 kasi, 140 lang ang treadwear rating, which is fairly low for a street tire. Di ko alam yung sa Potenza GIII, pero I just assumed na similar. Usually trade-off ang grip at treadwear. Pag mas makapit, mas madaling maupod. Depende na lang siguro sa priorities mo. I want something na mataas and treadwear. Pero kung madali din palang maubos yung LM's at di pa masyado makapit, baka nga Bridgestones na lang kunin ko. Salamat sa lahat ng nag-reply.

...my previous LM701s lasted me around 3 or 4 years (daily driven). ngayon naka 702s (17/215/45) ako wala naman akong problema whatsoever. already hit a pothole with it di naman bumukol after close inspection.
...but if i had the extra cash i'd prolly opt for bridgestone.

bridgestone ako... malambot mashado sidewall ng lemans, kaya prone to bukol. also, madulas sa wet roads, unlike the G3. trust me, i've tried both.
as above, if you want to go OEM-style, get a "spare tyre lock". but i use an ordinary cheap...
