November 3rd, 2009 01:45 AM #12I've noticed with diesel-clutches (my sources: '96 pajero, '00 hiace) is that they are very very very hard to stall.
Even if you let go of the clutch (relatively) quickly with minimal pressure on the accelerator, the car barely shudders.
If you try this on a vehicle with a gas engine though, usually mamamatayan ka. Try keeping RPMs at ~1.5k while releasing the clutch pedal slowly.

Pede walang gas (soft), a little (medium) or high rev (hard) at me kani-kaniyang applications ito.
There are many way to do things.

Very well said sir!
Soft - Moving downwards
Medium - Straight road/Slightly inclined roads.
Hard - Inclined road (pataas) or Straight road with heavy loads.
For the TS, tip ko sa iyo, basta matapos na yung "biting point" sa pagtimpla ng clutch, pwede mo na itong i-release. Pero ang masasabi ko sa iyo, for an experienced driver, kahit mapa-diesel or mapa-gas pa ang i-drive mo, kaya mo itong patakbuhin ng maayos. Experience lang talaga ang kailangan hehe. Try driving my small car, .8l lang ito, talagang kailangan experienced sa M/T ang driver nito hehe compared sa 2.0l ride ko na kahit not well experienced hindi gaanong problem ang timplahan.

yup, with diesel-clutches very hard to stall talaga.
what i normally do especially pagbago ko lang mahahawakan yung car, whether diesel or gas.. apak ko pa kunti than normal yung gas pedal, habang pinapakiramdaman ko. wag ka mahiya diinan, makukuha mo din katagalan.

i believe that's because the diesel vehicles have higher torque than the petrol-fed cars that you have driven. as a matter of fact, you won't even need to step on the accelerator, just release the clutch slowly and it will start to move. done that in our 05 Trekker on the ramp in our garage. i just released the clutch and it just keeps on moving forward.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
