Sirs, I am just learning to drive. My brother is teaching me and I have also taken a few hours in a driving school. My main problem is in hanging (as in nasunog na yung clutch kakapractice ko ). Sabi lang ng brother ko timplahin, which is nahihirapan ako, laging umaatras or di kaya namamatay. So I went to a driving school. Kaso po I had 2 different instructors and used 2 different cars.

Yun pong Altis, kapag working level na ang clutch eh umuusad which I found easy to drive kasi hindi po ako umaatras sa hanging and madali pagapangin sa traffic. My instructor in that car told me (during hanging) to release the clutch to working level, release the foot brake, then step on the gas.

Yun naman pong Vios kailangan ng konting gas before I raise the clutch bago umusad, which nakasanayan ko naman. Even so, kaunting apak lang sa gas during hanging eh nagfoforward naman so inches lang inaatras ko. Kaya sabi ng instructor ko dun is step on the gas before releasing the clutch.

Yun naman pong Picanto (my car),like the Vios, i need to step on the gas before releasing the clutch kaso po during hanging hirap talaga ako, todo atras nangyayari or di kaya namamatayan.

I really liked driving the Altis. Is there a way to adjust the clutch of my Picanto to behave that way? And ano po ba best practice sa hanging without using the hand brake? Gusto ko po kasi talaga matuto without relying on the hand brake because we'll never know baka bigla di kumapit (which I experienced kapag sobrang inclined na ang road sa Antipolo).

    Thanks in advance mga experts!

#1 rule: Wag kabahan. Wag kabahan kung mamatay makina or aatras.
#2 Wag pansinin kung binubusinahan ka.
#3 Enjoy driving. And drive defensively.

1-2 weeks of practice and your good to go.

sabi nila using the clutch of a car is all about muscle memory-- Muscle memory, also known as motor learning, is a form of procedural memory that involves consolidating a specific motor task into memory through repetition. When a movement is repeated over time, a long-term muscle memory is created for that task, eventually allowing it to be performed without conscious effort. This process decreases the need for attention and creates maximum efficiency within the motor and memory systems. Examples of muscle memory are found in many everyday activities that become automatic and improve with practice, such as riding a bicycle, driving and even using the keyboard.

enjoy driving, enjoy lanng studying driving, don't be afraid...

Madali lang yan Bro. Just watch how your brother do it and be confident that you can do it to.

or pag newbie...before releasing the hand-brake, slightly release the clutch at the same time giving a little gas (para di mamatayan) and feel the vehicle to start moving forward (or backward pag paatras na hanging), then release the handbrake...vroom!:attack:

there's no short cut about it. you will just have to keep practicing. and there's no way you can manipulate the cars' innards to help you.
we can tell you to do this or do that, but the bottom line is... you have to learn it yourself.
what i do know is, you will have a difficult time if your engine is not in tip top condition.

    Sirs,

Thanks po sa mga advice . So far, ok naman na ang driving ko sa level road, more practice needed pa din sa hanging. That's the main reason why I still haven't ventured driving alone (takot ko lang sa hanging ). Someone told me kasi that the clutch can be adjusted on the preferred level of release (biting point), kaya I thought of asking here kung pwede nga iyon. Coz if it is, and if such adjustment can help me better control the clutch, then I would definitely consider that.

Pero the way I understand it here, mukhang depende nga talaga sa klase ng sasakyan. So, I will just have to practice more and more and more kasi wala naman po ako pambili pa ng ibang car

    salamat po ng marami!

    sis pastelrei

clutch adjustment? help pls.
