If there's a demand for these "cheap" products, there will always be someone profiting from it. Kaya those malls in divisoria will always be full, everyone is always looking for a bargain, couterfeit or not.

think about this - if you have just spend billions in R&D to create a new product, or billions in advertising to build up your brand, would you want somebody to step on you and profit from your work without compensation? would you want low-quality, defective goods with your name on it out on the open market.

if you don't think there's anything wrong with piracy, or that IPR is no big deal, then either you have never built a good name or assets of your own, or you are not very intelligent. this whole "US meddling" slant that China puts on the argument is a smokescreen to try on capitalize on anti-US sentiment.

some of the biggest victims of the Chinese disregard for international law aren't even American - Louis Vuitton (France), BMW (Germany), Honda and Toyota (Japan), and the list goes on....
