God bless.

It's easy to find out if you really have a "singaw" in your piston... just find another shop that has a compression tester (pressure hose na may spark plug thread sa dulo) and do a full compression test.
Also get a second opinion... it could be a MAF or coilpack problem only.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Hi. Best thing to do to eliminate the guesswork is to go to a Ford dealer and have your car electronically diagnosed. It is usually free unless may kakalasin na part and they will only charge you for the dismantling if you decide not to have it fixed there. Once the diagnosis is made, check out magkano aabutin and then you can decide whether to have your mechanic fix it. However, word of advice....if it is really the MAF sensor that's causing the problem, you cannot settle for a second hand unit because chances are defective din yun. I would go for a brand new part. And guess what...only Ford dealers carry the genuine parts so your friendly mekaniko would normally source the part there anyway unless he has a secret source of brand new parts at Banawe. Anyway, good luck!

Hello. While reading this thread, I am beginning to feel a bit uncomfortable with my Lynx 01. Halos lahat ng mga kakilala ko eh nagtatanong "bakit ka kumuha ng Lynx eh mahirap at mahap piyesa niya" ...or "lakas ng loob mo kumuha ng ganyan mahihirapan ka magbenta niyan" ..to that effect.. I actually like the ride at wala pa naman problema (though sometimes nga taas baba idle niya pag naka aircon) pero parang gusto ko na itrade in/swap or ibenta na lang... ano po advise nyo?

Sir warren,
I was quoted almost Php21gran!
While I was thinking where will I get that kind of money, I turned on the TV, napanood ko si Kuya Mike sa CH9. Pinunatahan ko sya sa Sumulong Hway malapit Sta Lucia for second opinion.
Low and behold! Air filter lang pala. I bought it for Php250, ayus na ulit! wala pa naman ako naging problema sa engine since then.
Kanya kanya siguro technique on how to look sa problema...
share ko lang po.
