Come on over to http://forum.fordclubph.com ... there are people there who can tell you where to buy parts. So far, in my ownership experience, it's no more problematic than most Japanese cars. Same problems, same solutions. Yes, parts aren't ridiculously easy to find, but even my talyer in Laguna can get most of the parts I need. The rest? Casa prices aren't bad. Siyempre, may mark-up, but it's not excessive. And if you want them cheaper, you can always go to Fordland in Banaue.
Yung MAF problems, makikita mo yata sa erratic idle... mahina din ang hatak... for more advice, try asking the 1.6 owners at the Ford Club. Madaling linisin naman ang MAF... just spray it with electrical contact cleaner.

December 21st, 2006 02:57 PM #12warren kumsta na ang ford lynx mo?,ok na ba i mean naayos na ba? if di pa eh meron akong kunting share sa iyo sa problema mo,eh kung ang idle ng kotse mo ay taas baba,epacheck mo daw yung pcv valve (possitive crankcase ventelation)maaring yan ay clogged or leak,im sure na ang kotse mo ay equiped nito,kahit ikaw puede mo gawin to and simple lang,,,,una,,,hanapin mo ang pcv valve,usually between head cover and intake snorkle,may hose yan,if di mo alam,paturo ka nalang sa mekaniko kung saan,,ang gawin mo,tanggalin mo ang pcv valve then shake it.if the pcv valve does not rattle when shaken,,replace the valve,,.2nd,,,start the engine and place your finger over the end of the valve.with the airflow stopped,,mafeel mo yung suction and engine idle speed mag drop about 40-90 rpm.if you connot feel the vacuum,,the pcv valve or hose might be plugged with sludge,if the engine rpm drops more than 40- 90 rpm and the engine begins to idle smoothly,the pcv valve could be stuck open,,so ang magandang gawin,,check mo ang pcv valve,, cehck the hoses,,wag ka munang mgjump kaagad sa mga sinasabi ng mga mechanico,...i hope it help you out..

Pasingit na lang po in place of Warren..
Nung pumunta ako sa casa last week, ganon ang ginawa nila. yung pcv malapit ba sa servo? pero yun ang nilinis nung mekaniko. Tapos pinapalitan pa yung sparkplug na bosch na kalalagay lang nung Dec 16. Sabi di daw bagay yun sa Lynx kaya ang nilagay nila eh yung NGK na may tatak Ford. Gold nga dahil umabot ng 1,200 yung 4 na sparkplug wala pa labor don. Pero taas baba pa rin yung idle niya. Sa umaga pag malamig makina ang hirap ng mag start unless apakan at bombahin mo agad ang gas. Sabi nila doon sa casa wala naman daw problema yon but I my instincts tell me otherwise.
Niky, puwede ko bang ako na lang mag spray ng contact cleaner sa MAF? Hesistant ako baka masira ko lalo. I think MAF costs around 12k sa casa. Hindi naman sa kinuquestion ko yung mechanic don sa casa pero hindi niya alam kung yon ang problema. Iniinsist niya na sparkplug pero nung napalitan yung sparkplug, sabi niya wala naman problema sa erratic na idling.

Personally, I don't like multi-point plugs, either, as they may be the wrong height for the combustion chamber. Some cars like them, some don't. I'm not sure, but I think the Lynx is one of those that doesn't. If you want, just look up the part number for the NGKs the casa uses and buy outside.
Yes, you can spray the MAF yourself. Just disconnect the assembly from the air cleaner and remove it from the car (just to make sure any spray/sludge doesn't get in the air tube)... spray and let it dry thoroughly before putting it back. Some use a cotton bud to clean it physically, but this is kind of dangerous if you don't have steady hands. Spray alone is just fine. Good luck!

January 3rd, 2007 04:11 PM #15ang pcv valve ay di nalilinisan pag itoy sira na,may certain time ito na kailangan ng palitan,malamang na hindi ito ang inayos ng mekaniko,try mo tanggalin at alugin,pag di naalog, ito ay stuck(open or close),at pag umaalog naman,try mo alugin up and down,side to side,pag naalug sya both direction,,,,stuck open/close or rattle both side,its a symptom of a bad pcv valve,kaya di to pwedeng linisan.

Hi edalbau, same din ang problema ng lynx ghia a/t 2000 model ko...... bigla namamatay ang engine kahit tumatakbo ako.....i have replaced the crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, coil at high tension wire and the spark plugs.
can anyone provide more informations on what might be the problem. thanks.

May 2nd, 2009 07:00 PM #18i have 2003 ford lynx ghia m/t happy pa naman ako since nabili ko sya wla pa naman prob yun lang taas baba na idling pero tgal na nun wala naman prob ganun hindi naman sya na taas baba na pag bumaba idling prang mamamatay makina.taas baba lang na ok lang naman sakin.di ko pa palitan lynx ko thanks GOD wla pa prob lynx ko happy pa kami ng family ko ganda ng ride ok ang feature. share ko lang lynx ko hindi po nagyayabang,salamat po
