experience ko before in buying used pickups is that most of them ay laspag na, owners buy pickups to use them and not just pamporma, secondary nalang siguro yung porma. pinangkakarga talaga yan kaya most of them have high mileage and most units are abused, the f150 is not an exception. may kilala akong f150 owner na pinang haharabas and ginagamit talaga sa business. maswerte ka na kung makakita ka ng f150 na sariwang sariwa pa, and kung nasa 20k lang odometer nya thereabouts malamang tampered na ito.
suspension parts ng f150 costs 20k and above kaya its no joke trying to restore one, although pag napalitan mo na lahat ng pang ilalim it will give you many years of service naman. watch out for the electronics, sakit ng mga lumang ford ang electricals. i was fortunate enough not to have encountered such problems with my previous 02 expedition though, ang major gastos ko lang dati is the rear suspension airbags which gave way (30k damage, ouch!), no problems with the f150 kasi leaf spring ang rear suspension niya.
Well if i have my way i would purchase another expe/f150, the astig factor is priceless, mulcting traffic cops would look the other way pag ito dala mong ride. had to sell my expy lang to keep a low profile kasi mainit sa mata yun.
since puro american v8 cars naman rides ng TS i think sisiw lang ang maintennance and pa gas nito para sa kanya, whatever makes us happy diba? life is too short so enjoy itLast edited by bratski; June 8th, 2009 at 02:53 AM.

Buddy i think if you are thinking over about gas consumption get an XLT v6 na flare side it consume less fuel than a v8 lariat, teh power is still there,
anywase gass is the last thing you have to wory about f150 or exped, what will cost you most is the parts.
mas masarap i set up than a lariat, specialy if you want to play with the suspensions (lowering it) sa lariat you need to cut thru the chasis to lower the back suspension sa Xlt di na.
nothing can compare with teh feeling of drivin a ford or an american suv or pick up, ive got serveral jap suv's but ill still say parang bitin ang dating mo pag jap suv's
maintenance??? you wont buy a ford if you cant aford it right?

July 28th, 2009 03:01 PM #39I had f150 before, I never regret having it, never had any major problems, sobrang tibay. It really depends on how the previous owner took care of their unit. saken kase I never had any problem except for some sensor prob.but not that bad, mga 5k lang ata nagastos ko sa casa. Kung may relatives ja sa states mas maganda sa kanila magpabili small piece of parts, kase layo ng price dito. Medyo mahal ang bed cover, I had mine customized by carryboy, fiber glass sya, which cost 30k. Re gas issue, 4x2 lang kase yong akin so it didnt stress our pocket a lot. actually mas malakas pa sa gas yong revo ng office mate ko. Just take care of the regular maintenance so you could prevent major problems in the future...
