December 28th, 2006 10:51 PM #21the eddie bauer has a bigger engine 5.4 liter and has a 4x4 drivetrain, plus better trim.
The limited edition has a 4.8 liter engine with 4x2 drivetrain.
My 2000 xlt (4x4) consumes about 4 kms per liter city driving.
Its not so much considering a honda crv gets about 5 km / liter mileage.

December 29th, 2006 10:43 AM #23hhmmm....i have the limited edition too and it has the 5.4L engine and 4X4.as far as gas consumption.....i just drove to my parents house for the holiday(1000 miles) and i averaged roughly about 13m/gal.thats doing 85-95mph for 12 straight hours.sorry.dont know the conversion for kilo/liters.
the difference of my limited vs the eddie bauer is the center console digital info screen and the moonroof.trim is pretty much the same.

A car's consumption is based on the owners attitude and habits in driving, vehicle maintennance, traffic conditions and even a cars load affect fuel consumption. Even if a car can reach 10km/liter and the driver frequently races( hard acceleration, abrupt braking) etc, it may get a low of 5km/liter. On a traffic free highway the exped might get 9km while on stop and go traffic it may get as low as 1-3km. I average around 4-5km in my everest while others get 7-9. But bottom line, the exped really consumes a lot of gas even when you're light footed, but if you insist on getting one, get the 5.4 v8 (you'll use up more gas on the 4.6 version as it has less power, in effect you step on the gas more to get the same amount of accleleration on the v8 model)

We have the 1999 Expe 4x4 which was one of the last units to be sold. Gas consumption is around 3-5 km/liter I think but definitely not higher than 5 km/liter. Very comfy ride esp. for long trips.
About 4-5 years ago, full tank was around P2,000 pero ngayon nasa mga P3,500 na ang pa-full tank
