    narinig ko lng ngayon sa radyo ininterview ford officer sa sta rosa---ford focus dito daw gagawin and will be for export. ok ba itong ford focus na ito? eto ba yun hatchback na tinutukoy yun parang picanto?

    they will market the sedan here. may 1.6L, 1.8L and 2.0L engines available. and yes dito siya assembled and exported just like the lynx and escape (?)

    The Sta. Rosa plant is also building Mazda Tributes, Mazda3 & Ford Escapes. They used to build also the Ford Lynx & Mazda Proteges.

    Ford Philippines is the ONLY vehicle manufacturer here that exports (in sizeable quantities) vehicles.

    Like the Picanto? Hardly...

    kamukha nga ng Picanto, parehas sila bilog gulong, parang anlayo naman chura ng Focus sa picanto? only similarity ata lang nakikita is pareho bilog gulong nila.

    yes!!!!.... a rally bred car indeed....

    is it same as Kia Picanto?? NO WAY..... you can compare it with mitsu evos and subarus....

    Pls dont compare the Picanto to the Focus. The two vehicles are in very different classes.

    Is it goodbye for the Ford Lynx? Personally they should've went the Focus in the first place. Ideally the Focus should be sold as a hatch w/ the Lynx line intact.

    The one they'll sell here is more comparable to the Mitsu Lancer, another econobox. Wonder when they'll offer a Ford Focus RS. :)

    ah ok! ang alam ko kasing ford focus eh yun nasa WRC (rallye) yun 2 door na maliit(cute kasi) tama ba? mura lng kaya ito pag dito binenta (dito naman ksi ginawa eh)?

    Yup...

    Ford & Mazda has a lower MSRP since they are given tax breaks for being a vehicle exporter.

    the Focus will share the platform of the Mazda3 & Volvo S40. though I'll bet that the engine of the Mazda3 & Focus will almost be identitical...

    di naman kasi 2.0 turbo + awd yung focus sold in any market, kahit usdm or euro. sayang ;)

    same goes with the 206 and 307. heheh.

    hmmm. 2.5T...pwede na with the usdm impreza, 2.5T din siya. usdm evo na lang ang 2.0T. heheh.

    pero ambaba ng 220HP for a 2.5T engine...bakit kaya ganun specs niya?

    the 2.5L engine in NA form only produces around 170hp.

    though they also have the 2.0L turbocharged engine that produces 300hp. but this is only used for rallying.
