Question about the nationality of Ford Lynx

ok, I admit I really don't know how to answer this question: How will you classify Ford Lynx? Japanese? American? Asian or what? Of course we base it on the nationality of the manufacturers but it not sold in the States. Thanks in advance. Am expecting also sir dave (theveed) will help me in my query.thanks

Ford Lynx isn't sold in the US...If im not mistaken, Ford Lynx is a Daewoo. Daewoo and Kia produces cars for Ford sold for the gray market...Some of the parts may come from Mazda..

So, i'd say its korean by soul.

the ford lynx is a rebadged mazda. in the US, its the 99-04 mazda protege.



re: carlocaraddict's query, it japanese. i dont think we should base it on the nationality of the car's manufacturer though. what then would happen sa chevy optra? chevy siya? dapat daewoo. what about the mercedes musso? mercedes ba dapat? dapat daewoo..or is it ssang yong..dunno. alam ko daewoo. lexus? toyota..this is just me though..

Parang na-intrigue din ako nito kaya I checked where this LYNX are manufactured. There are only four FORD PLANTS that produces LYNX and they are all in Asia. These are MALAYSIA, PHILIPPINES, TAIWAN(as Tierra), and VIETNAM. It is safe say then that LYNX is an ASIAN CAR.

Ford Lynx is know in the U.S. as the Mazda Protege. Tapos na ang run ng Protege (Mazda 3 na), so malamang wala nang bagong Lynx. Unless Ford rebadges another product.

Give and take lang iyan. Mazda also rebadges Ford products.

Never seen a Lynx or a Ford badged look-alike of the Protege...Lynx is only sold in some parts of Asia and was never sold anywhere in North America.

US version Protege is Phil version 323..they are exactly the same...Ford Lynx is a different breed....Ford and Mazda both shares parts to save engineering costs (therefore, cheaper cars)....shared parts doesn't mean, its rebadged.....you only say rebadged if they are the same cars (interior and exterior) but have different badges.

Ex. Kia Pride = Ford Festiva
Mits Pajero = Mits Montero
Mits Eclipse = Eagle Talon
Dodge Caravan = Chrysler Town & Country

taka lang ako bro, bakit ang hirap mong paniwalain na protege yang lynx. hihihi. so you mean there shouldnt be lynx members in protegetech? that we have been wrong all along in letting lynx peeps join our club? kung ganun, my gulay (ala amanda griffin) mind you that one of our lynx members have traded his gauge assembly to a one from us protege kasi nasira niya yung gas needle niya..plus, most engine mods from the us protege are bolt on to the lynx here (may member din na, afaik, nagdadala dito and have installed parts on his rs..)..

Ford Lynx is assembled in our country and other Asian countries as well. That is why if you purchase it here, the nationality is Filipino...but every car manufacture has the so called "Global Branding" nowadays, they built the car to meet local demands and specifications. I wonder what they will think of next...
