June 27th, 2018 06:30 PM #31Hi. To any Ford Explorer 2013 owners here - please help:
When I turn on the engine I SOMETIMES (rarely) get "Power Steering Assist Fault" and "Lane Keeping Sys. Malfunction - Service Required"
I will turn OFF and turn ON the engine and everything will be fine. I brought it to FORD BGC and they advised that they upgraded the software. I got it back and the alert disappeared for two weeks but then the notification popped up again today. I talked to FORD BGC and they told me they will need to replace the steering gear (Php250K+). I was told there are no recalls on this item. Is this true? Please advise/help. Thank you!

July 10th, 2018 01:28 AM #32Hi! I'm Planning on buying a 2014 Ex LE, I need your advice! I read your post, "It should tell you if it's effected under the recall. It's usually 2011-2013 models" is the 2014 model affected w/ these issues as well? or any known issue perhaps that I need to be aware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

March 19th, 2019 11:01 AM #34Hi all, we are about to get a 2nd hand Explorer (2014) this weekend. However browsing thru some posts in this thread, it kind of placed some doubt in me. Is the Explorer really highly susceptible to problems/issues? Are we making a "not so wise" decision? Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

March 19th, 2019 12:50 PM #35American V6 is a great car. kung V6 ang kukuhanin nyo. So fast so smooth so powerful.
Yan dahilan kumbakit hindi ko mabenta benta ang Explorer Eddie Bauer ko , this is my last gasoline car (my other cars now are all diesel). Though yun na nga lang, its always in the garage now most of the time, kasi nga hinde sya daily driver,
In America its a police car. So if you buy one make sure you join an FB page of American owners para matulungan kasa maintenance and other concerns.
Parts are not really a problem here in the Phils.
There are 3 major suppliers na mura and reasnable
Mazford Banawe
Thunder Banawe
Fullness Banawe - third party OEM pero all American made like Moog and Coniseal
Serivice Center
Shell / Petron for Maintenance
Brdigestone for suspension related repairs
There are Ford Specialists in FB equipped with Ford Scanners and Tools, reasonable sila mag charge
So if you csn get a 2013/2014/2015 Ford Explorer less than 1M , ok na yan . Pero pag more than 1M kuha ka na lang ng Vitara / Rush / Ecosport at least brand new

March 30th, 2019 12:05 PM #37Hi all, 1st time Ford owner here. I followed advice as per attached screenshot (i forgot who) that if you get a 2nd hand, magpa PMS ka na tipong pang 40K .. Change oil, sparkplugs, mga filters, all fluids, etc. I agree, para fresh slate, so i did (i bought the explorer 38K din na naman mileage so ok lang). However there are a few things the SA told me na maybe someone can verify?:
1. Change sparkplug of 2014 Explorer is not like other cars, it takes mga 2days to complete?
2. Power steering, brake fluid and ATF no need. 80,000 km daw change ksi Explorer.
3. Fuel filter cannot be changed coz nakakabit sa Fuel pump, so di talaga pinapalitan hanggang masira pump.
I just need to know if i am being given the runaround para hanap ako ibang Ford Casa. Help?... Thanks guys!

March 30th, 2019 01:27 PM #38Ang alam ko most ford explorers replace sparkplugs every 50000 miles .
Ang serviceable eh yun nasa under the engine.
Wag ka na casa magtanong, search for Ford Specialists sa FB, two are located in the Rizal area. Puro contractual nasa Ford Casa, i know kasi halos sila sumira ng explorer namen noon
Power steering fluid kahit ikaw na magpalit, bili ka malaki syringe , suck snd replace, walang drain plug ang PS system ng Ford, closed system
