Its mostly a hit or miss. I know a couple of Ford focus owners happy with their rides, while there have been reports in this forum with their vehicles having tranny problems.

i have my ford explorer 2005 wala naman problema sa transmission. ang pinalitan ko lang is tie rod and rack end. I sold my old toy last august and never heard a complain from the buyer. If there is an issue with AT transmission, then it will be an isolated case.

Got the beige leather seats on the premium Everest. What is the best way to protect it? What to apply and where to buy?
    Thanks.

Hey guys, we're choosing between Monty, Fortuner and Everest. My dad wants to wait for the 2016 Montero but I'm leaning towards Everest. I'm thinking of getting the AT Ambiente because it falls within the budget, my question is malaki ba talaga ang difference ng Ambiente sa Trend?
We want 50% downpayment para hindi masyadong mabigat yung monthly so I kinda need to justify the 150k additional.
It will be a secondary car pala and the first car that I will drive myself (i always have a driver)

Also, totally unrelated question about the car but i understand that its better to get bank loan than in-house, kindly help me lang to understand if the usual freebies (LTO, insurance etc) that we will get from in house, does it mean hindi namin sya makukuha if we go bank loan?

Bank p.o. you pay for chattel mortgage, insurance and lto. No freebies. But if you compute all the payments you will make over the course of the loan you end up paying a lot less than in-house financing. Don't even believe for 1 second their "no hidden charges" sales talk, NOTHING IS FOR FREE. Their in-house interest rates are much higher than if you go by bank p.o. and the difference are usually in 6 figures.

Just do the math. Add up all your costs bank p.o and compare it to in-house.

I did get a vehicle last year using in-house financing but only because the car i bought was "nilalangaw", yun bang ayaw bilihin kasi hindi "in". That time their in-house interest rate was same as bank p.o. Kaso lang nga it turned out lemon naman pala, kaya pala halos ipamigay na nila compared to other vehicles of its type. Sold it already last month.

hi chatteraddict... i think there's significant difference between ambiente and trend as well as titanium... you can check this link for comparison..

with regards to bank loan my advice is for you to canvas the loan interest from say 2 or 3 banks and compare their terms...you can negotiate with your bank as well and probably get the lowest interest rate in the market...the new Everest does not offer free LTO and TPL insurance as well as tint kahit pa in-house financing ang kukuhain mo...so you have to pay for all of these..... kaya walang diperensya kung sa banko ka man o sa in-house magpapafinance... LTO, TPL, and tint not FREE

in my case i had my everest tinted outside ng casa kasi i can choose what kind of tint i want and at a lower price... insurance was from the bank as well and i only paid around 28K for the insurance of my FORD EVEREST TITANIUM 4x2... i also did not pay for the DI... talk and deal with an honest agent.... so far i love the ride of my eve compared to my montero

Hi Jentrak, thanks for the link! We're thinking of going to Unionbank because it handles our companys account so I think we can get a good deal but it never occurred to me to go to different banks. Is it possible to get a car loan on banks na wala kaming account? (sorry it's my first time buying via loan so medyo hindi familiar with some stuff).

Also, what's the fuel consumption of your Everest?

Ugh, I never realized its a bit difficult to make a decision on what car to buy. When I saw the Fortuner last week medyo hindi sya benta for me, it looks old school. I also looked at the Trailblazer and it's on my short list.
On top of deciding the car model, it's have to look at different banks and my budget. Medyo nakakapagod din ng konti.
Also, it is advisable for us to go to different dealers? Or pape-pareho lang ang offers nila?

*chatteraddict. If you're not in a hurry, better wait for the upcoming fort and monty to have an actual and in depth comparison.

Nothing wrong with the New Everest so far and it would be the better purchase than the 2 outgoing models of the competition. That is if you are going to get one now.

Just my opinion po. Hope to help.
