hi mga sir!
just want to ask for info and suggestions regarding ford everest since we never owned one.
1) is it true na sirain and unreliable ang ford everest? ano po ung usual na sira or issue with the everest?
2) is it really expensive too maintain? how about the availability of the parts.. mahirap pa rin po ba?
3) what’ your usual fuel consumption?
4) can you suggest po any good dealer (pre and post sales reliability)?
reason po i’m asking these questions coz my papa plans to buy a SUV.. we are looking for in a suv are reliability, space, safety features and fuel consumption...
the suv we are checking right now are everest titanium premium 4x2, montero gls premium and nissan terra.
looking forward to your honest answers po. salamat.
Sir, if you can join the FB group Ford Everest Club Philippines (FECP), mas maganda po dun kayo magtanong, kasi lahat ng isasagot is base sa owner experience.
thanks sir. nag request na po ako to join the group. sana payagan so they could give me suggestions and advices. salamat po.
wow!!! 100+kms in 2 yrs.. saan kaya nya ginagamit yung sasakyan nya.
When I was on the market for a pickup truck a couple years ago, I was considering the ranger along with the hilux and navara, but there seems to be a problem with rangers turbo system (my close friend experience it firsthand),I just want to confirm if it's prevalent.
Nagtakipan yun members, one was so stupid as to saying " wag Ipagkalat kasi babagsak daw resale value ng ranger!!!"![]()
Our family owns and owned several variants of Rangers including current model Trekker, Wildtrak, and XLT and old (2010 and 2003) models as well. Haven't had any issues with them and some are still being used as workhorses for the farm.
But as with any group, take comments w a grain of salt rin since you can't help but be biased with your purchase/choice especially if you're active in a group, which may show your passion for the car. Use comments and first hand experience from them as a barometer against 3rd party reviews as well.

My experience with car FB groups - daming nagcocomment, but only about 10-20% is actually useful information.
My feed gets flooded with unsound advice, outdated recommendations, and ricey mods.
The FB group is very useful though when looking for parts/upgrades/hacks specific to your car. You just really have to sift through so much fluff.

I agree. Good to join FECP. They have tons of useful information just filter out the wrong ones by identifying members that are credible. I'm also a member there. Here are my inputs.
1. Nope. So far, its reliable. There are some minor issues but it it was addressed in future model updates or can be avoided by the users. eg. headlight leveling issues, paint issues, and brittle inside door handle (inside). I have not read or heard of any major chronic issues on the engine, turbo or transmission. I remember 1 case of stalling in baguio and another case of detached steering column but these only happened once so its isolated. I'd like to think that the latest gen Everest is from a different crop. While its still a Ford, it was designed by Ford Australia and not by Ford US or Europe.
2. Periodic maintenance is not bad. I spent around 9k and 12k for my first 2 (6mos and 12mos). Some parts are normally ordered and it takes time. This is if you need to really change major parts. Eg. Collision repairs
3. for the 3.2 model, its 7.5 km/l city driving, 11km/l highway. This is dependent on how you drive though. It can be more efficient. I have a heavy foot.
4. Ford Makati. If you are part of FECP, they have a good deal with the AUTOHUB group. Ford BGC is under them
My comments sa questions mo nasa quote. My advice is, do a proper test drive. Madaming tao na ang hindi gumagawa nito. Basta bibili na lang ng sasakyan. I tested the Everest, Fortuner G, and Mu-X. Sa Everest talaga ako nagandahan sa tatlo both in looks and driving experience.
Nevertheless, it's a good source of info like upgrades, etc. and very generous kasi free stickers nila, members provide free services like forscan, etc. and active ang admins. I have yet to enjoy those.
for those who have bought fords recently, ie those that have not undergone the first 10k pms, you may consider availing Ford SSP... for 60k plus, you will have prepaid maintenance until 60k or 3 yrs whicehver comes first,

I test drove the Everest Trend and Mitsubishi Montero GLS Premium.
I really liked the engine response of the monty, the passive keyless entry, push start, and rear camera.
However I decided to order the Trend in the end. I get the same 6 airbags and other safety features plus leather seats but at a steep discount (Php1.57Mn vs Php1.71Mn). I also preferred the look of the Everest. The rearcam is easily remedied by installing a rearview dashcam (I got a Yi).

Ito rin lang ang pinagpilian kong dalawa (everest vs montero) when I got the Everest a year ago. I do have a Lancer 1.6 MX (very efficient) and yung nanay ko has a 2015 Montero. Although I asked my driver (to my surprise) who also drives for other people wala naman daw pinakaiba masyado yun ating Everest steering with the current crop ng Montero. Hmm. I have not seen or researched though the data myself. But in the end, I went with the Everest because of the looks. Again ang kinainisan ko lang sa Everest is yung sa PMS which is they force you to follow yung 6 months thing unless makipagtako ka at ipakita mo na hinde ka uto-uto. Yung sa Montero eh they just follow the mileage, kung kailan ka mag 10T km then PMS ka. No crappy corporate greed. hehe
