Sad for this, but good luck sa warranty.

Why do some people need to post irrelevant issues of other ford vehicles here? You guys Will just create anxienty and fear among Everest owners... Hindi naman Everest yan...

I second this. Why so much hate with the brand? It is so unhealthy to give so much negativity. The Everest has been around for 3 years. Yes it is not a perfect car, but we have not heard any major problems with it.

Dumating na daw parts. AT transmission oil pump talaga sira.

Common issue ata ito sa 6r80 transmission. Hmmm. Madami akong nababasa pump failure sa internet pero non everest but 6r80 transmission.

Ano kaya posibleng collateral damage if nasira ang pump?

Regarding the topic of the philippines only having the issues of SUA for the Montero Sport, but none on other countries.

There was a similar case in the US where in Audi was involved. Long story short, the manufacturer was cleared and Audi said it was the way Americans drive the car which is what caused the incident. This comment infuriated US Audi Customers which resulted to people not buying their cars for a long time.

Now im thinking maybe its the way we drive that is causing these SUA incidents?

So much hate for Ford cars. Hahha

Thing is though, every car maker has made recalls one time or another because of fire-risk issues. There was a time nga na Toyota made a voluntary recall on 6m vehicles because of a faulty switch that could start a fire. That's how it is naman talaga with Engineering eh. You can try to think of every way a component could fail and test all possibilities, pero there will still be a very specific and sometimes rare combination that you won't be able to foresee. That doesn't mean it's poorly engineered, it just means a human did the engineering. ;) Diba, even the space shuttle, which probably was the most over-engineered thing on earth at the time, failed more than once?

From my experience, my cousins had two ford focuses that never caught on fire or had bad trannys. My wife still drives her 3 year old ecosport, no issues at all with the tranny. Dad had a Montero na hindi naman nag SUA (and he was a terrible driver hahha). My Everest is still going strong, no issues with electronics and obviously hasn't caught on fire. This is my family's second Everest na. I also have a 4 year old Ranger, no issues whatsoever.

TLDR; So I think, any car or SUV is good, just buy what you want. They're all well engineered machines naman, or else they won't run at all.

If you apprehensive with the brand, go with what your mind says.

So it could be that too.

No problem too with my Oct 2015 Titanium Everest. Warranty is expiring this month.

On my last PMS, the handbrake was set too tight. After just 1 click, the next one would be hard to pull. Does anyone know how I could adjust. It myself? I'm too far from Manila. Thanks.

Just go under the vehicle, trace the cable from the handbrake lever. At 1 end it meets the 2 cables going to the parking brakes at the rear wheels. There is a long bolt at this point. Just loosen or tighten the nut and lock nut on this bolt as needed.

Btw, why were they adjusting this in the first place? Parking brakes should rarely be adjusted because the vehicle is already stopped when you pull the handbrake lever, so there should be no wear on the brake pads. I've had several vehicles and not 1 ever needed adjustment of the parking brakes. UNLESS you have the bad habit of using your hand brakes as normal brakes, engaging the parking brake while the vehicle is moving? Or keep forgetting to release before stepping on the gas?

Don't know why it was adjusted. I didn't check the handbrake till we reached Tuguegarao. The driver mentioned nothing, so it was too late when I noticed it.

Thanks. For the info. I'll go under when I'll have time to adjust it. [emoji4]

The lights on the sun visor mirrors and the moon roof are tapped to the same fuse, fuse #1 in the driver's side kick panel.

Mahirap hanapin micro fuse. I've been to ace and handyman.
