Paint protection is only advisable to people who are do-it-and-leave-it types. Amid their claim, they won't offer "lifetime" protection so think of them as extremely durable versions of your favorite waxes and sealants. The claim of making your car harder to scratch is pretty legit though but it won't be scratch-proof. As per my experience, I'd say it cuts down more than 50% of the scratches seeing that I'm not in a hurry to have my car paint-corrected after testing an Opticoat v2.0 for over a year.
From a cost perspective, just forego them and just maintain your car regularly.
1. Car wash every week (do it on a Sunday as your exercise regimen). -- Php250/4-6 months
2. Buy a long-lasting wax or sealant and have it applied every 3 months or so --- Php800-1500/2 years
3. Professional detail every 1-2 years with a paint correction product (polish-compound-polish-compound regimen) -- Php2000/year
Your cost would be far less than what those paint protection would give you and it keep your car maintained on a day to day basis.
