Did we have a recall, replacement or extended warranty over here, just like australia extending warranty to 7 years?
Ito naging issue of my dad-in-law's 2010 focus. Sabi ng casa that transmission will cost 440k!! Kasing mahal ng buong kotse. He eventually sold it with the damaged transmission at 180k.

I think there is a global warranty coverage among impacted units. There is a site where you can check if your Ford car with a DCT tranny is covered or not.

For the 2009-2011 Focus TDCi, its wet-clutch DCT tranny is different from the dry-clutch DCT tranny used in the Fiesta, Ecosport, and 2012-2014 Focus.

Dito kmi nagpagawa nung 2010 focus dct ng opis mate ko circa 2014, 40k at odometer. Symptoms is may CEL relating to tranny error and makadyot pag arangkada. Cost Him 60k pesos. Till now okay pa naman * 120k kms at odo.

Ford replaced the TCM for free because the car was was shuddering and not able to reverse. After 1 month same thing happens. Then Ford is now charging 14500 for labor for pull down transmission. And when they opened the transmission they are charging 76500 for 2 shift forks and release bearings. They showed the transmission where the insides were full of rust. They said it is caused sa paglusong sa baha. To think that they were advertising the Ecosport having 550mm wading height. I answered if it's baha why then other components are not affected by floodwaters. Then they said that it might be to tilamsik of rainwater. To think that the Dry type DCT250 should be sealed for 10 years and Ford in other countries has extended the warranty for transmission for 7 years. Here its a robbery.

Ford has agreed to fix, buy back or replace up to 10,500 cars, as deemed by an independent auditor.

The models affected include the Ford Fiesta and Focus small cars and EcoSport SUVs made between 2011 and 2015 equipped with the six-speed “Powershift” transmission.

The gearbox is intended to be as smooth as a regular automatic but Ford received widespread complaints about shuddering and delays.

Complaints began to surface in 2015 and 2016 however, Ford now admits it initially misdiagnosed the problem.

“We took too long to identify the issues and we acknowledge that PowerShift customers did not have complaints handled appropriately between May 2015 and February 2016,” said Graeme Whickman, President & CEO Ford Motor Company, Australia.

FordPH comments regarding this issue from the TopGearPH article. It is just full BS - zero accountability.

We reached out to Ford Philippines to get its take on the matter. This is what they told us: "The settlement reached with the ACCC was specifically related to our company’s processes in Australia and local applicable law."

As long as there's no legal complaint among Ford owners nothing will happen definitely. The weak consumer protection law adds to this non action among owners.

But perhaps if Ford owners affected by the DCT issues can get together and come up with a strong legal complaint probably Ford PH will be compelled to take action. There's Ford owners facebook group, probably someone there can start the ball rolling.

There was already a petition filed before but it didn't get enough steam to move forward. However, with what happened in Australia, sales of Ford small vehicles will just even get worse.

Nope, it's not the reason. There are dropping off the small cars in favor of the big vehicles is because they are not making money out of its small cars. They are keeping the Mustang and one Focus model in the North America.

The Europe and UK market is bigger for Ford in terms of small cars. Europeans are not fond of SUVs. Europeans love their Fiesta STs, Focus STs, and Focus RS but these three come in MT tranny.

Unfortunately the recall website accepts VIN for cars sold at the US only. I entered my 2013 Fiesta VIN and got an error message instead.

The users of Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus and Ford EcoSport filed the charges in April last year against four of Ford’s subsidiaries -- Ford Motor Company (Thailand) Co Ltd, Ford Sales and Services (Thailand) Co Ltd, Ford Operations (Thailand) Co Ltd and Ford Services (Thailand) Co Ltd. They accused the companies of selling unsafe products due to substandard production and distribution and of false advertising.

At the time, 10 owners, representing 421 others, filed the case, seeking damages totalling 24.7 million baht. After a settlement, 113 withdrew, leaving 308 as plaintiffs in the case.

The court scheduled to decide whether to accept the case on Monday.

Can anyone redirect me if there is an existing thread on ford everest transmission problem or class suit related to this problem.. newbie here.. owner of ford everest trend 2017 with 19k mileage. Ford tarlac said they will replace the transmission and will take 1 1/2 months.. with its mileage.. its hard to accept that my vehicle needs to be repaired since i bought it brand new. Pls help me find some related thread. Thank you in advance
