Call me Pierre... I want this one more than the Fusion.va-va-voom!

The answer is no.
The all-new Ford Mondeo is built on the new Ford-Volvo developed EUCD platform. This was designed to accept inline engines including Volvo's turbocharged inline-5.
Different variations of th EUCD platform is already being used by the all-new 2007 Volvo S80, Ford Galaxy MPV and its sportier sibling the Ford S-Max.
EUCD platform uses a similar architecture to the C1 platform of the Focus(Volvo version is known as the P1), this is why it was known earlier as the C1-Plus platform.
The Mazda 6 uses its own Mazda developed platform. The USDM Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln MKZ use an expanded version of the Mazda 6's platform known as the CD3 platform.
