August 8th, 2013 01:14 PM #92Anyone have any information whether the new Escape will be launched within the year?
In just noticed that Taiwan, which is also a LHD market, renamed it as the Kuga and sells it side by side with the old Escape...

The new Escape/ Kuga might be launched after the Ecosport.
The next new Ford vehicle to be launched after the Fiesta will be the Ecosport B-segment crossover. Pre-launch activities will begin before the end of the year, it's expected to go on sale in early 2014.
The new Escape is actually the second generation Kuga.
The only Asian plant that currently builds the Kuga is the one in China (Chang'an-Ford).
Only the North American sourced model is called "Escape".
PS: The New Kuga was launched in Malaysia, it's sourced from Europe (where they manufacture both RHD and LHD models).

Wala pa ba saten nyan? Dami na ng ganyan dito. For me, it doesn't differ much from the previous model.
Ford only added DRL besides fog lights and that's about it.

"The new Escape will arrive but only after the EcoSport has gained some footing in the market" according to former Ford Philippines President Randy Krieger.
The EcoSport's pre-launch activities begin towards the end of the year when production of the EcoSport in Thailand begins.
The New Escape/Kuga is currently not being manufactured in South East Asia, the only Asian plant that makes the New Kuga is the plant in China and this is for the Chinese market.
Malaysia, Singapore and Japan sources their New Kugas from Europe, while South Korea sources their New Escape from North America.
Kay Hart, the new Managing Director of Ford Philippines (new title for the top position of Ford Philippines) hasn't mentioned anything about the New Escape/Kuga.
Ford Philippines tends to give out information only before a vehicle will be launched.
Next Fords to be launched will be the 1.0 EcoBoost Fiesta and the EcoSport B-segment crossover.Last edited by AG4; September 26th, 2013 at 03:09 AM.
