Looks like life always gets exciting for Ford afficionados these days, model-per-model WOW!
Ford Escape revealed at LA Auto Show - News | TopGear.com.ph

This may probably come to the Philippines (i think). Ford Philippines statement was, after Top Gear Phils. enquiry ---- After the intro on the all-new Explorer, this coming months will the intro for the all-new Ford Ranger, and then the all new Focus.... Possibly, the Escape thereafter.... let's hope! It's looks so good!

Thanks to Ford president Alan Mullaly (one of Boeing's former great think-tank engineers and executives before he was asked to save Ford Motors by no less than the Chairman himself, Bill Ford Jr.). He was really serious after all in his plans to step it up for Ford Motors and save one of America's greatest legacies and history....

You guys should have seen his year 2007 featured article on Fortune 500 magazine. He reports for work at 5:30 am and leaves the office past 7:00 pm WOW!!!!

Ford marks its great Escape for 2013

Marking its debut at the 2011 LA Auto Show, it looks like Ford’s newest SUV has left its old, boxy façade for a sleeker, more wind-swept look. Dubbed as the “Smarter Utility Vehicle,” the all-new 2013 Ford Escape is packed in with an unsurprisingly hefty dose of technological knickknacks, as it seems to be the trend in cars these days - tech-savvy and eco-friendly.

Besides the standard 2.5-liter engine, Ford also added 1.6 and 2.0-liter EcoBoost options that promises better fuel mileage. There's even a new six-speed automatic transmission thrown in the mix, plus an active grill shutter system that automatically opens or closes the grill slats to improve aerodynamics while cruising. Moreover, the all-new Escape is fitted with quite a lot of sensors; the Intelligent 4WD System is being fed data from 25 external signals, including wheel speed, accelerator pedal position, and even the steering wheel angle.

Since this will replace the current Euro Ford Kuga, a diesel version will be released.

Sana nga i release din nila diesel version dito sa atin. But that's wishful thinking dahil mukhang malabo e. If not, the 2 liter ecoboost will do. Any leak from Ford Philippines when they will release it here?

Possible na magkaroon ng TDCi version sa sarili kong pananaw.
Global design & release na ang ford ngayon.
Pwede ring hindi kasi ang matipid na ford fiesta diesel hindi dinala dito

Most likely next year, i'm just not sure if it will arrive before or after its baby brother the EcoSport.

So far, the only confirmed new Ford models to be launched here this year are the following:
All-new Ranger
Explorer 2.0 Ecoboost
All-new Focus

Update:

The almost identical euro-spec 2013 Kuga version of the 2013 Escape.

Unlike the USDM Escape, this will have optional TDCi engines.
Engines available from launch include 140PS and 163PS versions of Ford's popular 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine, with Ford Powershift automatic gearbox an option. Ford Kuga will also offer the 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, already available in Ford Focus and C-MAX and impressing with its strong torque delivery and high fuel efficiency.

So far, there hasn't been any set regional (ASEAN) launch date for the 2013 Escape/Kuga.
Ford Phils doesn't want to give info on future models (next batch of new models to be introduced) but based on the articles I have read, the smaller 2013 EcoSport will be the next new ASEAN Ford model to be made in Ford's new plant in Thailand, again no date has been announced.

My guess is both the 2013 EcoSport and 2013 Escape/Kuga, will be introduced next year.

The 2013 Escape just went on sale in North America, it goes on sale in Europe starting early 2013 where it will carry the Kuga name.

PS: ASEAN models are usually introduced in Thailand first before they get here.

I think its a good move for them to do a voluntary recall while it's still early.
Ford is conducting a voluntary safety recall of certain 2013 model-year Escape compact crossovers over concerns that carpet padding mispositioned during installation may interfere with braking.

A notice on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) site lists the number of vehicles potentially affected in the U.S. at 8,266. Affected vehicles were built at the Louisville Assembly Plant from March 8, 2012 through June 7, 2012.
