It could have been a software glitch also. This is common among cars that have a sophisticated on board computer. The more tech savvy your car is the more you are at risk compared to older cars which are purely mechanical. A simple restart may eliminate the problem. Perhaps a reset of the ECU, as what is done in other car brands with perceived engine problems, or a software upgrade may prevent similar incidents in the future. If there is something physically burned, they could easily detect it.

Flick the switch upwards quickly to activate auto-up. If you hold it too long, it will not activate. It will just go up and then stop when you release the window switch. Do the reverse for auto-down.

We do customer support also in our line of business.

Kahit ilagay natin ang sarili natin dun sa lugar ng mekaniko, ganun din ang gagawin natin. They followed all the diagnostic steps and found nothing wrong. They cannot act based on anecdotal evidence only.

Di ba may video recording na mga cellphone natin ngayon? Baka mabuti i-record mo tapos pakita sa kanila.

O kaya naman isakay mo sila tapos pakita mo yung problema. Drive kayo dun sa may paakyat.

Long shot lang pero is there a possibility of user error?

Automatic transmission yan di ba? Gas and brake lang? Can anyone deliberately produce such symptoms like erratic accelerator use?

Read the link above about Ford's dual clutch system. It is possible that the Transmission Overheating warning should not be taken literally that the tranny is shot. Apparently, Powershift has a virtual sensor instead of an actual thermostat in the transmission. A computer algorithm checks out the driver's input with respect to car speed, engine rpm, temperature etc and it sneakily tries to discourage inappropriate driving behavior (that may shorten transmission life) and how does it do it? Voila ... by flashing disturbing warnings that get your attention at once, and which naturally prompts most drivers to step on the brakes (which puts the dual clutch to neutral - and start all over again). In short it is a sneaky/clever way to teach/train you how to drive the car properly - not a notice that a serious problem is at hand. However it does seem that this can backfire if one doesn't know about this at all - this can easily make one very paranoid. I would have preferred more specific comment from the car like drive smoother you #*$%&! hehe . Isn't this on the Fiesta manual?

It is possible that you are babying the car too much. Slow speed is actually harder on the dual clutch. Drive your new Fiesta from 40 to 80 instead of 40-60. Your fuel economy will improve and hopefully you won't see the warning again.

I've been reading the threads here: http://fiestafaction.com/forums/. Some of the initial problems encountered by the new owners were solved by re-flashing the ECU with updated software. They also talk about TSB (technical service bulletins?). Meron din kaya nito ang Ford Philippines?

Ito talaga hirap pag high-tech na ang mga sasakyan.

Its not on the Fiesta manual... It just states that the car can warn you of a transmission overheat and if it does just pause for a dew minutes to let the tranny cool down...
