03 ford escape xlt 4x4

hi,

my wife and i recently purchased a used 03 ford escape. it has 22k miles on it(not bad) and it looks really fresh inside and out(in fact it smells like a brand new car. i've been reading posts on escapes and i have yet to find one with this model. incase you own one or at least know one who owns the same model i'd appreciate a few comments.

i used to own one, a 4x2 xls 2003. binenta ko last month lang i had it for 2 years kasi masyado na bumababa ang resale value saka nagsawa na ako sa manual transmission, now i got crv05 a/t. Believe it or not, (for me lang) escape gives better rides parang steady lang sa daan saka astig ang porma dahil bulky at lots of space sa engine compartment di siya masyado puno kaya mas nalilinis mabuti. Sabi nila di raw masyado mabenta compared to crv dahil raw mahal ang parts ng escape palagay ko di pa rin totoo kasi ang mahal din ng parts ng crv eh, at lahat ng orig parts mahal lalo na kung sa casa bibilhin. Pero sir iwas lang sa sobrang engine wash may nabasa ako dati ang daming nasiraan ng alternator (cost 50K daw) dahil nababasa yung spark plug tapos nasisira yung alternator at the end. Di gaya ng mga new models iba na raw ang design ng engine.

thanks sa reply sir. btw, matic nga pala ung nabili ko. when i bought it, sabi nung nagbenta bagong palit ung alternator, so talaga pala dapat ingat sa engine wash(Thanks sa advise!). where do you service it or buy parts? sa banawe daw meron na? lastly what's the best mileage na kya nya? kasi nung magpa gas ako 25 liters mga nasa 170km umabot so mga 6.8 km/li sya w/c is mostly city driving.

for 2 years na nasa akin yung xls (nung mabili ko 47K mileage, ng ibenta ko mga 63K yata) wala ako naging problema maliban lang dun sa pinalitan kong brake pads sa front pinagawa ko sa servitec, pampanga, yun lang at puro change oil lang ng semi synthetic every 5000km sa shell. umaabot ng 8km/L ang FC ko kasi di ako mahilig sa arangkada pero minsan pumunta ako ng manila via NLEX di ko namalayan 140km/hr na ang takbo ko pero smooth pa sya. saka m/t kasi at 2.0L lang siya, ang xls 2.3L yata di ba. Wag kang magalit pero parang di yata advisable hatawin ng hatawin ang escape sir di sa akin galing yan igoogle mo na lang yung comments ng mga escape owners sa US dati pero syempre nasa gumagamit pa rin yan. at napatunayan ko, sinabi ko lang para maging aware ka sir

pero yung bagong model ng escape maganda na raw at walang nagiging problema based lang po ito sa mga nababasa ko kasi di ako nagkamodelo ng escape xls03 lang yung akin at matibay di ako uminom kahit isang biogesic

actually 2.0 xlt na 4x4 ung escape ko. appreciate the comments sir. nung binili ko ang sabi ng nagbenta, alternator at brake pads ang mga napalitan sa unit. although di ko pa siya na hataw talaga, medyo natuwa naman ako sa sinabi nyo na it could reach the 140km ng di halos maramdaman.ang fear ko lang naman talaga eh baka high maintenance kc ngaun lang ako nagka ford buti naman so far sa mga nag reply wala naman mga ganung problem. i'll just check the comments re di advisable hatawin ang mga ganung model ng escape. one thing i noticed though is medyo sticky ung acceleration at medyo nabibitin at parang may pumipigil pag biglaan ung acceleration(or baka nanibago lang ako from a m/t car to an a/t suv).Thanks sir!

I think there are only few XLT Escapes sold. Karamihan 4x2 XLS nabenta.

Why don't you post your queries sa ford club Philippines.
