back in the 50s and 60s, there were many local manufacturers of ice cream.
but "well-meaning parents" would say that only magnolia ice cream was manufactured cleanly.
everyone else was "dirty".
the monicker stuck.

me and my brothers and cousins,
we were dying to taste the sorbetes that the mamang sorbetero would push along on the street...
it was only much, much later, that we were finally able to.

Masarap yung avocado sa mga Avocadoria stalls sa mall. Yung plain lang na walang syrup or anything.

I love their silvanas, but nothing beats Mrs U's. I got to try Montenegro's but I still like Mrs U's better.
