There are those saying that the donut market is already saturated. now a fourth major player? vs. Dunkin, Mr Donut and Go Nuts (of course may other peripheral players din). Also KK is priced higher but will that deter people flocking to it? Starbucks is a highly priced coffee yet it has a huge following. other "high priced" coffee players are here too but they cant generate the following Starbucks does. Will KK be a cult or will it pffft? Would like to know your thoughts and why.
Also think about how Max group committed to 30 outlets in two years...will this make it through? also we have to look at Max. It is held by (maybe) three branches of the family (is all well and good there?). It has promo after promo to try to generate sales...could there be trouble in t he Max horizon with the newly designed outlets and the dominance of Chicken Joy?
Are all things inter-connected?
This is not a thread asking what is the better donut in taste and price but what you think KK will be like in this market...will it be a huge hit or a big bomb?

December 11th, 2006 12:52 PM #2I think it will do pretty well. Laging may pila dun e. Pero personally, I don't know what the big fuss is. Hindi naman sya kasarapan. Same goes for Gonuts.

for now they are a big hit since iisa pa lang shop at new player in the donut war sila. Gonuts had long lines din dati kasi one store in the metro lang sila but ngayon wala na pila kasi marami na branches at mukhang pinagsawaan na sila. so KK naman ang pila ngayon...
as for making it big sa pinas... may potentioal since max's fried chicken ang local franchisee nito... they have the know how in the food business.
they can even make a promo out of it... max's chicken with free KK donuts

mukhang nakuha kaya ng DD ang taste ng pinoy? o nasanay ang pinoy sa taste nila kasi one of the first? kaya sila ang major player? at ang mangyayari na lang sa KK at Go nUts ay maging specialty players? Will KK overextend to quick too soon? sabi kasi nila sa states 30 branches in 2 years ata.

pero ang starbucks kahit more than 30 branches ang lakas ng hatak...will KK be that in the donut world o dahil 4th siya yun ang mapapala niya?

IMO, I think it might make a big splash, but will settle down with its moderate market share in a short while....., just like Gonuts Donuts.....
