We all have our favorite food. We know its taste, texture, aroma. And price and size. With incessant inflation hounding us, the food we eat either increases in price... or decreases in size.

McDonald's seems to be bringing size decrease to alarming levels nowadays. I used to remember when a Big Mac is a Big Mac. Now a Big Mac is a Little Mac

This morning, I had a bit of a shock with the Sausage McMuffin delivered to us

What I got is on the left.... What I used to know is on the right

So which alternative is acceptable to you:

    1. Food size/portion stays the same but price increases

    2. Price stays put but size decreases

    ----------------------
Arghh... didn't notice the typo in the title. Mods please edit the typo in the title. Thanks!

actually, double adjustment ginagawa nila. decrease the amount or size and increase a little on the price.

For me, they should just keep the size and increase the price.

Same here... just keep the size & quality, and increase the price.

Or maybe they can introduce a JR sized version...

Increase the price and retain the size. It makes sense as having a fatter wallet and bigger stomach is natural progression as we age.

Napansin nyo din ba in restaurants, when they have some sort of promo (ensogo, etc) that the serving is much smaller than normal? Noticed this at a ramen joint where they offer 50% off your ramen if you order their gyoza. I thought what the heck, even if I didn't eat the gyoza that's still -50% off, great deal di ba? Ayun, pagserve ng ramen 1/3 lang yung laman compared to normal serving. Puro noodles lang haha.

From the point of view of a businessman mas maganda reduce size na lang... Mas halata ang increase price baka humina ang sales...

They can simply make smaller sized meals for budget buyers. People who buy the regular menu items are more concerned with their bellies than their wallets.

It's almost not worth eating at fast food joints, anymore. I'd rather get a full meal at a carinderia...

breakfast, lunch and dinner. try mo bumili ng 2pm - 4pm or 9 to 11pm, siguradong merong thigh, breast at rib part.

YEAH! I regularly eat at CPK. At one time, I called the waiter and asked her if she served me the thin crust variety instead. Sabi niya hindi. Ganon daw talaga yung regular crust nila.
At first akala ko glitch lang yon or bago yung kusinero nila. The next time I went to CPK, ganon talaga!

Isa pang napansin ko -- when Teriyaki Boy was still new, I remember they served real Japanese rice. Short grain, round, firm. But the price remained the same! Again, I wish they'd just offer a Japanese rice version of their Teriyakidon for an additional cost.

Teriyaki Boy quality issues? Well, here's the problem:

Pancake House acquires Teriyaki Boy food chain for P230 million ...

Same time period, too. I was also wondering why the food was so bad at Teriyaki Boy in Festival Mall compared to the original in Morato... when I found out about the take-over, I was devastated. If Pancake House ever acquires Omakase, I will commit seppuku with a pair of plastic chopsticks!

    When we heard about this:

Not so much. Yellow Cab was okay at the start... but even when they were new, their food was too oily and too salty to eat more than once in a while.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I think Omakase should be out of the radar. Pancake House looks at more casual dining type of restos with a lot of branches...

    One hopes.

Omakase is a good case study in how to expand without sacrificing quality. Build fewer seats than you can fill, and build outlets with full quality control and sometimes the same staffing as the mother ship (shuffle experienced people around).

Sure... you'd make more money whoring yourself out for franchising... but diluting the name doesn't bode well for the long term health of the franchise.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
