Any suggestions, particularly with tahong and halaan?

For tahong, i pick the smaller ones, withnthe greener (rather than black) shells...but am getting mixed results. Minsan muddy, or at times they have this gasoline-like aftertaste.

Re halaan: my neighbor says that you should let them soak in salt water, but just only enough water to cover them. Tama ba?

For mussels, we just remove the other small shells that attach to them and the part of the shell that attaches to the pole.... The bigger the mussel, the better based on my limited experience

For halaan, soak them in water but not necessarily salt water for them to spit out the sand....

OT for oysters, we scrub the shell...

Just wondering if there's any way, visually, to know if they'll taste good. In some instances, me nakain akong me aftertaste na gasolina

kaya halaan nalang or tahong sinasabawan ko.
sa tahong.kinikiskis kong mabuti ng kutsilyo.
sa talaba ,bina brush ko siya.
sa halaan binababad ko ng half day.,

linalagay namin sa nawasa water overnight, so's they cough out the materials that they ingested that cause bad taste..
of course, we rinse them several times after that.

Possible nga. Minsan kasi nasa lugar kung saan hinahango / hinuhuli yung shellfish that brings about the bad taste. Kaya masarap mamili sa province ng ganito kasi almost all the time fresh mabibili natin.

    Tahong: Scrub lang then wash.
    Talaba: Same sa tahong.
