ung milky way pala sa makati tumagal

    -

mas prefer ng pinoy halo halo

    icebergs is successful

    -

    dairy queen pala

    pero it's more on brand

    and it's not large footprint

homegrown ice cream parlors usually don't last

    -

    culture

pinoys don't really go out for ice cream

we go out for meal and order ice cream pang dessert

so restos whose business model is serving ice cream... they won't last

Razon's and Little Quiapo stood the test of time din.

The seniors in my family love Milky Way, I don't get it. I guess nostalgia?

Hindi ko maalala but that won't work on me, mahuhulog ice cream haha.

BTW there is something about ice creams in US na mas masarap sa Pilipinas. I wonder if it's the quality of milk.

i do not recall a "dirty ice cream" parlor.
    ever.

in the 60s, only magnolia ice cream was "deemed clean enough" by my parents.
everything else was "dirty" and should be avoided.

    ngayon, starbak na.

    but in the olden days,
there was this vintage milkshake, whose name i can't seem to remember...
simple lang yung glass (yes, glass!) niya...
it was just akin to melted strawberry ice cream, but i loved it.

magnolia ice cream fountain at aurora blvd had this creme de menthe ice cream concoction.
i tried to make my own and looked for the mint syrup, found bols, but the taste was half-hearted.
