Tanduay Dark (gold label, 80 proof) is quite good for a rum. Even foreigners love the distinctive aroma, sweetness, and strength from its sugar cane roots. You can drink it straight and chase it with just water, or make a strong cocktail out of it. If you want something more distinctive for a local rum, try Don Papa but it’s much more expensive than Tanduay.
Never a fan of rum or brandy but I’d drink it if there’s no other choice. I prefer spirits like vodka or gin or mezcal, even over whisky (Scotch, single malt, bourbon, Tennessee-style). I can drink beer any time. Hehehehe
