    Kung para sa akin para ma prevent iyong oil sludge gumamit ka ng original oil filter at kahit mineral oil basta umabot ng 3000. Km palit agad ng langis. Kung iyon talaga sakit ng makina ng Altis. Mas maganda rin kung pati oil pan ibaba at linisin iyon loob doon naiipon sa ilalim iyong mga langis na namuo kasi pag matagal hindi napaandar makina dito pumupunta langis.

    It actually boils down on the oil you put in your engine that forms the sludge build up. The more formulation and additives the oil has the more it is prone to sludge.

    Recently found out that our 10++ year old lancer has no sludge build up when we took it for valve clearance check up at a gas station. It was using purely mineral oil from the top 3 oil giants, the gas station mechanic was awed when he open up the valve cover to see that the cams and rocker arms where very clean and even the inside of the valve cover was so clean. The regimen was regular 5Kms change oil/filter with regular air filter cleaning or replacement. BTW, our Lancer has 180K Kms. It was also using VIC oil filter, but we usually buy them at reputable stores.

    This is now my regimen with my Innova, and I quited using FS oil, no more Toyota OEM FS oil nor RP oil, I'm doing now mineral oil every 5K Kms with air filter always on the check list.

    di ko pala na mention, every change oil, change oil filter din. before i used toyota oem filters, now im using VIC bought from ACE hardware. siguro naman oirg yung mga yun?

    IMO, Vic oil filters are good quality.

    OT: paano ba malalaman kung orig ang VIC filter na nabili? kase hearing somethings na may fake daw na VIC.
