    good day to all tsikoteers. Tanong ko lang po kasi napansin ko po sa 96 Isuzu TFR pickup ko 4Ja1 ang engine following observations:

    1. May lumalabas na usok sa lagayan ng oil at sa dip stick.
    2. Timitilamsik po oil pag binuksan lagayan ng oil habang umaandar.
    3. parang kulay puti po usok at mabaho po amoy.

    Ano po kaya problema at pano solusyonan ito? Does it need overhauling? will top hauling solve it?

    i hope guys you could give advice and help me with these problems. any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance.

    That is what is commonly called, "BLOW BY" indicators. For sure it would need overhauling... i'm not just sure if a top overhaul would suffice.

    Let us wait for other knowledgeable enthusiasts chime in.

    I would begin with a compression test.
    There is a big possibility na mataas na blow by niyan.
    Hard starting ka na ba sa umaga?
    Have you checked the valve clearance?
    What is the mileage?

    kung ok pa ang hatak, matipid pa sa diesel at di pa kumakain ng langis huwag ka muna magpa overhaul sayang lang

    yung 97 ko na hilander 310k na ang odo at may sintomas na rin ng tulad sayo pero malakas pa ang hatak, matipid pa sa diesel at di pa kumakain ng langis kaya go go go pa rin

    kung puti lang ang usok ok pa yun masama kung bluish ibig sabihin nagsusunog ng oil

    mabaho talaga usok ng 4ja1 hehehe

    To 4JGtootsie:
    Sir one click starting naman po sa umaga kahit medyo matagal na di nagamit. Mileage is 87,500 + Kms.
    To Sboogie:

    Sir Matipid parin naman po about 14 kms. per liter highway driving, OK sa hatak at di pa naman po kumakain ng langis.
    And to all guys there who replied, I'll take your advices po. I'll have the valve clearance be check as well as the compression. I'll post po later any developments po. Salamat po ng marami uli.

    You have a problem with the crankcase becoming pressurized by blowby. The PCV valve is supposed to take care of this, but if the PCV valve is clogged ( replace it) this caused your engine a problem of blowby or due to excessive worn engine, it will cause malfunction. Also be sure that you haven't overfilled the oil.

    when is it time po ba to do a total overhaul or just top overhaul. I have the same dillema but mine is just white smoke puffing out of my exhaust. no oil or smoke spitting out of the dip stick.

    where can i do a compresison test? how much is it?

    PCV may be blocked/restricted. Slight oil gas discharge is acceptable.
    2. Timitilamsik po oil pag binuksan lagayan ng oil habang umaandar.
    This is also normal.
    3. parang kulay puti po usok at mabaho po amoy.
    This is abnormal. Does white smoke occur only when the engine is cold, or even when the engine is at operating temperature? Are you also experiencing a rough idle condition?

    Ano po kaya problema at pano solusyonan ito? Does it need overhauling? will top hauling solve it?

    i hope guys you could give advice and help me with these problems. any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance.

    Di kaya blowby na yan? Pakiramdaman mo kung may pagbabago ang andar. Kung masyado nanginginig. kung minsan kasi yong injector malakas na bumuga ng supply sa cylinder chamber, kaya maputi ang usok hindi nasusunog lahat ang diesel pumapasok sa loob ng cyl chamber. subukan mo buksan ang oil filler cap. kapag malakas na ang hangin lumalabas at may kasamang usok. malamang na loose compression na yan.
