white smoke at idle

Mga Sir what could be possible cause ng white smoke during idle only and sometimes pag reverse ko?Car is 7g Galant.I add only 1 liter of oil every 5 mos para lang ma top up. Is that bad already? Pati sunog ng sparkplugs ok and early morning startups nagtutubig pa. Di ko alam whats the cause. Do I need a compression test to determine if my seals needs to be replaced or piston rings maybe? TIA

AFAIK.
Unless there is no oil loss, you need not to add engine oil or else excess oil will create too much pressure that it gets past your piston rings and it may be one of the reason why white smoke comes out.

Too much oil may also cause too much heat and will eventually damage you piston ring and even the block.

Damaged piston rings will cause white smoke and some power loss.

Nagto2p-off ka ng engine oil every 5 months para lang mamaintain ang oil level mo chief?
Posibleng nagsu2nog na ng langis yan bro.
Better na ipacheck mo na po, baka kailangan na ng top-overhaul.

Check mo din ang radiator mo, if lagi kang kulang sa coolant or water then nagsu2nog ka na ng coolant. Posibleng kailangan mo ng magreplace ng head gasket cheif.

Have it checked as soon as possible.

Early morning condensation is normal. If you suspect engine is bad, see if you're losing coolant and oil at the same time, or if one or both are mixing.

Mga Ser thanks sa mga replies nyo. As for the coolant normal lang po. Di nababawasan ang reservoir and no over heating naman. Yung smoke pansin ko lang sa traffic pag titignan ko sa side mirron meron pero konti lang naman. Pag hataw ko wala po smoke.Gamit ko oil pala is Motul Htec 10w-40. Iniisp ko baka manipis kaya nababawasan. Thanks sa mga inputs nyo bros. Observe ko pa rin siya..

Kung nababasa ang spark plug mo may problema sa head gasket, at sa sinasabi mong puting usok yan ay tubig na nasusunog dahil sa leak na nakakapasok sa combustion chamber mo. Kukunti pa lang ngayon pero sign na yan na busted na ang head gasket mo. Spend now before the worst.

Mga Ser checked out kanina its bluish not white.My bad sorry na color blind ako. Could it be the valve seals na? Or piston rings? Or best is to have a compression test? Thanks a lot!

kung bluish ang smoke, siguradong may tama na ang makina mo bro. having a compression test will confirm which cylinder ang may problema.

Not necessarily, the oil may be leaking and going to the exhaust downpipe, effectively "burning" off and simulating blue smoke out the rear end. But I agree, a compression test is the most surefire way to determine if the engine is in good health or not.

in my case...kung papalitan nalang din ang mga parts na yan..lahatin mo na.

we had a customer dati na nagtitipid..ayun paisa isa ang palit...bukas nang bukas ng makina..mas lalong malaki ang gastos.

*mbeige and Glennster-Mga boss thanks sa kasagutan sa mga tanong ko. Nagpaquote ako sa casa last week. Ganito breakdown:

Compression test-P500
16 valve seals(Galant SS)-P3,500
labor-P1,000

Ok na ba yung quote ng casa? Should I go for orig or ok din replacement parts? San shop po pinaka mura orig mitsu parts? Pati contact no na rin po sana.

I noticed last night while naka park ako I turned on the a/c then after 5 mins lumabas sa oto it started to smoke but when i turned off the a/c nawala smoke. What could that be?

makiki-ride: sakin may white smoke pero nung pina-compression test kay migs, ok naman. oil level di nababawasan. water reserved konti lang bawas as in mga once a month me refill. ano po kaya prob? kakatuned up lang kahapon. and bago rad cap.
