It could mean accelerated wear on the engine.... Maybe still under tolerance, but the car should have been designed to run idle at certain RPMs... Higher gas consumption..
Also, I almost forgot (I think not yet mentioned here),- hard on the brakes...

high idling means mataas kesa sa normal idling, mejo lakas sa gas ng konte kase di normal idling reason bkit mataas, check kung naka tune ang makina.. make sure na naka tono ang makina ng maganda para maibaba sa normal ang idling.

usualy, may sticker nalalagay sa engine bay sa RPM setting. considering kung may tachometer sa dash...
