My car is due for registration this Jan., requirement na ba talagang mag pa vehicle emmision test ang lahat ng vehicles bago ako makapag rehistro, or applicable lang ito for older vehicles? Nag pa tune up kasi ako sa caltex kanina at quite a number of vehicles were being tested for smoke emmisions. When I inquired, kailangan daw ng certificate na nakapasa ang oto mo sa VET. How true?

yup pare, pareho tayo. my car is due for registration this january. afaik, requirement na talaga yung certification sa set, but the procedure is really not that clear with me pa.

probably some guys out here had the experience na and the step-by-step procedures how they did it.

Yes, ipapatupad na sila for all vehicles starting Jan. 2003. It's part of the clean air act. Why not wait for Jan and then tsaka ka magpa-VET. By then our gasolines will be cleaner thus increasing your chances to pass.

I just got my car tested eto yung Standards:

    VEHICLE CATEGORY: - CO% - HC(ppm)
    reg. b4 Jan 1, 1997 - 4.5% - 800
    Jan 1 1997 -Dec 31, 02 - 3.5% - 600

ayos, nakapasa naman yung akin .25% ang CO% at 251lang HC

Sana hindi naman maging ningas cugon or maging cause ito ng corruption(lagayan) among LTO officials, kundi yari tyak yung mga smoke belchers na gumagala dyan majority of which are PUVs

sana pati mga malalaking company like yung mga nasa industrial park ay mag-require din sa mga employee na may auto. it will be a pain at start but if consistent ang implementation it will greatly help the country. we need to realize the ill effects of CO and HC to a nation with 80 million citizens. malaki gastos ng bansa sa health related to respiratory problems.

though June pa rehistro ng auto ko ay paghahandaan ko na yan para pumasa and never na maglalagay ako.

before VET, i have my oil change and tune up. i run the car at high RPMs to push the carbon out of the system and i don't put the car on idle while waiting for the test (pila kasi eh), i turn off the engine while waiting. it's still not a sure way to pass if your engine had not been taken good care of though.

if you fail the VET ... bayaran na yan. tignan niyo, madami pa rin smoke belchers even after all this hoopla about VET as part of the registration process.
