I made him use the black one.

I used Sure Grease when I replace the valve head cover ng 4AFE ko, natunaw lang yun mga excess sa edges, more than a month na, wala naman oil leak.

Technically, one does not need RTV sealant when replacing a valve cover rubber gasket. The valve cover gasket supplied to most engine models is usually made of rubber. Rubber performs the sealing aspect here. Proper torque on the bolts/nuts is necessary so that the valve cover clamps down evenly on the gasket, creating a good seal.

That is the same as when replacing an oil filter, one does not use RTV sealant sa oil filter rubber o-ring di ba?

Okay lang yung Pioneer Black Silicon, yan din naman ginamit ko sa valve cover ng Innova, no leaking almost 2 years na. Dapat lang talaga malinis yung surface at hindi pinatatagal ang pagbalik at tighthening and also observe curing time.

tama at ganito nga yung nangyari sa engine ko, and I forget to mention yung curing time (1 hour sa akin), as mentioned by Mile2

Para tumigas konti or kumapal baka sakaling tumibay. Curing time 1 hour din.

I'll take note on your suggestions. Thanks all.

Yup. Yan din sabi ng erpats ko. Once na may oil, no need for silicone gasket dahil enough na daw ang o-ring to seal it completely.
