IMO, a "new" oil is much better than a "used" one. But that's just me.
German cars use synthetic oil (mobil 1) starting when they came out of the factory. And thats what they use on scheduled maintenance and thats what they recommend. I dont think switching to a regular oil will be a good idea. So my answer is - depends on the car you drive.
