    mga guru, hingin ko lang opinion ninyo regarding valve clearance adjustment. nagpa tune up ako ng sasakyan ni mrs, isuzu XUV matik. sabi ng mekaniko, higpitan ng kunti ang valve clearance, from 0.16 to 0.14, para maganda ang takbo. nagtanong ako sa mga isuzu owners na nandoon at nagpatune up din, ok naman ang feedback, bumilis daw ang sasakyan nila. ang problema, nang magawa na ang sa akin, pakiramdam ko, kumupad at hirap sa arangkada. wala namang ibang ginawa kundi ang valve clearance. chances are, yon talaga ang culprit. magkaiba ba talaga ang effect sa manual at matik? ok naman sa manual, makupad sa akin na matik. feeling full of regrets...

    Baka break in period pa, pero the truth is, check your service manual if hindi auto adjust ang valve clearance ng makina mo.

    hindi ko lang alam kung applicable din ito sa diesel.

    sa gasoline engine ko kasi dati, kapag tight ang valve clearance, tahimik makina pero ang downside, hirap, lalo na kung yung exhaust valves yung masisikip, tska kapag high rev ka, nag ooverheat o mas mataas sa normal temp.

    kapag maluwag naman valve clearance, maingay (tik tik sound) pero ok ang performance.

    may tamang way ang pag seset ng valve clearance. depende sa makina. yung iba gusto habang nasa operating temp sinusukat, yung iba naman kapag malamig pa ang makina.

    tska may range yung clearances na yan, hindi pwede hula hula lang din. mas mabuti yung pasok sa range na nasa owner's manual. kung wala naman owner's manual, kadalasan nasa hood naka stamp yung valve clearance.

    doon sa engine ko dati, gusto niya mahigpit sa intake valves, maluwag naman sa exhaust valves.

    i read a lot of reviews about this. ibalik ko sa mekaniko bukas, ipabalik to sa dating specs ng crosswind, yong 0.16. baka masira pa ang sasakyan, ayokong mag experiment pa.

    itune up lang dapat kung may ingay TIK sound lagatak,ung makina..
    kung tahimik pa naman hindi na kailangan..

    malagatak naba kasi engine mo?

    kung ibabalik mo yan siguradong hindi na maibabalik sa dati kasi nga iniba na niya at siguradong hindi naman niya inilista ung
    sukat or valve clearance dati ,bago niya inadjust,

    kung ilang days palang naman ung pag kaka tappet adjustment.
    mag babago payan..hayaan mo nalang muna..1 week - 2weeks.

    When should be valve clearance be adjusted? Am approaching 150k on a TD27T engine. Nawala ko na ang user manual and nag-fade na ang sa hood pero a downloaded copy of the TD27TI states 0.25mm both hot and cold, sa Offroadexpress.co.nz naman eh 0.35mm

    Never pa ata ako nagpa-adjust ng valve clearance, ngayon may mga tik tik tik na sa engine. Ganun pa rin naman ang power pero may onting smoke lang

    what are the tell tale signs for the need to adjust your engine's valve clearance?

    aside from the tappety noise (not really sure how it sounds like), what are the other symptoms of loose tappets syndrome?

    If all parts in the engine are OEM, follow the manufacturer's specs. The clearance is there as a provision for thermal expansion of the valve stems. If the clearance is insufficient, the valves may not close properly when the engine reaches normal operating temperature resulting in burnt valves and/or valve seats.
