ramledi, what do you mean? the api rating? the 15w40 is API CG-4, CH-4, CI-4PLUS/SL rated.

manny31671, you should follow the capacity requirements and buy 5 para hindi magkulang.

    sir speedy,
thanks for the info, BTW, the engine has been using mineral-based oil since I got it, do I need to do engine flushing in the next oil change before using synthetics? or do I simply drain the used oil, change the filter & pour in the synthetic oil...

lemonut, either way is ok but using a good flushing agent like bluechems oil system cleaner can't hurt.

again, like i said, it can't hurt. the flush normally just takes away any of the deposits left by other bad oils.

Two cases are cited in carbibles.com about this and I find it useful.

Case 1:External impurities (like mud in flooded cars) came into your engine oil, then flushing is a must.
Case 2:You are moving from mineral oil to synthetic oil directly AND you have been using mineral oil for sometime now (as in years) then flushing is also beneficial.

So far very good ang info dito sa link na ito.

di mo matatangal yung mud sa flushing alone. minor sludging kaya but not built up mud.

I'd stay away from flushing oils. Even if they say its a "non-solvent" type. How the heck will it get rid of residue if its a "non-solvent"? Stripping residue right away from your engine will be bad for it if there's too much of it.

I use Auto RX. It cleans the engine gradually. I've used it in my trucks and it works like a charm.

RP is a good oil despite the weird name. Runs smoother, more quiet and does increase power by a bit.

Which is more suitable for a gas Fortuner? 5w-30 or 10w-30? The 5W is ideal bec. it is quite thin. But my concern is whether the 5W can handle the extreme hot summer nowadays bec. it seems to be more suitable for extreme cold weather.

5w30 is fine. it'll have no problem even with summers higher ambient heat.
