bro, try using shell helix blue 10w-40. i switched from castrol gtx 20w-50 last march. the result was very satisfying e.g. reduced engine noise & slightly better acceleration from standstill. my ride is an ae101 btw.

try to ask first your mechanic on what engine oil will best fit your engine to avoid fortuitous events from happening. it was my mechanic who told me to switch engine oil brand and consistency. better be safe than sorry you know.

If you're engine is a 4G32, I think the GTX 20W50 is just fine as the engine is of an older design. it has wider tolerances than modern engines. but using a 10w40 would be ok as well as it is lighter on your engine and its still a 40. if you have budget try using Castrol Magnatec 10W40 API SM. That's what i use in my rover mini.

oldschooler ka din pala... yung 85 galant ko na 4g32 ang ginagamit ko dun either Petron Super Touring yata or Castrol GTX - parehas yata na 20W-50 and SF rating.

agree, even casa uses the mitsu oil 20W-50. well recommended for hot climate like pinas. IMO since it is an old school but really proven engine nothing is wrong with the 20W-50. it's the interval that makes the difference.

Right Engine oil?
