BACK to topic....yung kapit bahay ko nagDIY din ng remote start and stop...pero hindi ko lang alam kung merun pa siyang stocks nito...he bought several units from US. Last time ang asking price nya was P5k for the unit and the install...his unit didn't have an alarm (hiwalay bale).

how about a remote system that deflates gradually the front tires? baka mas safer ito sa lahat both carjackers/innocent victims, and the carjackers may not blame you

December 9th, 2005 05:33 AM #25OT: maganda ayan...kaso wala pa yatang ganyang system. So far, a fuel shut-off valve na remotely controlled lang ang nakikita kong pedeng magamit.

siguro bore a hole on two front rims, put a tube on each front tire, i-parallel sa axis yun tube with an almost 90 degree end, ah wait lumiliko pala yun front tires. sa 2 rear tires na lang mas ok. then put a radio-controlled electronic mechanism or gsm-controlled to open a valve and suck the air to the tubes, and release gradually sa ilalim sa inner side ng tires ...

Also, power-assisted steering becomes very heavy when power is cut off, eventually locking itself as a security measure. You may want to think about that too, the next time you run your car at 100kph and you suddenly decide to shut the engine for a little free-wheeling.Last edited by Bogeyman; December 9th, 2005 at 10:24 PM.

Clifford has alarms with remote engine start/off features. The high end ones also has anti-carjack features. During a carjacking, the alarm waits a certain time before arming itself to disable the car. As soon as the carjackers slow down or stop during this time for traffic or a traffic light, the engine will now die, simulating a car problem. These one costed around Php12k around 9yrs ago.
