Yes, and just like the VOAs that people do, wouldn't it be nice that people also do these third party tests? It won't be as numerous as OAs I suppose. 1-3 tests of a line e.g. the Pure One Series or Donaldson Endurance series, and we'll get the idea if they're superb or junk.

It's not that uncommon to see wavy filter media so that alone does not make a filter bad, The problem with VIC is they still use a very old style of cellulose for there filters with a low efficiency rating and compared to others it is very thin.

You can see what I mean here. VIC still uses the same stuff as OEM which is just as inefficient.

Compare that to modern filters with modern cellulose blends

    Very big difference vs VIC

VIC's are cheap for a reason.

There are lots of independent test as well. Just like this Test Pictures and Results - Oil Filtration Comparisons From the Workbench

But all a individual needs to do to see how well there filter is working is do a oil test with a particle count.

A iso test cost about 1600USD a filter so it's not something most individuals who don't have access to the equipment to do the particle counts can do.

The price is not that premium on the Baldwins, in many cases they are always cheaper than OEM and cheaper than most locally stocked brands.

And as far as fleet trucks go that's what Baldwin and Fleetguards are designed for that's what makes them so good for a daily driver.

So imagine how much the mark-up on those VICs are. The importer has a good business running along.

Is Volmax open on Saturdays? I'm planning to visit them tomorrow to get myself a Baldwin B118 then mate it with RP15w40 diesel grade.
