Increase performance! Honda Civic FC

Hello all

Ask ko lang how will I increase the speed, power, etc whatever you call it of my Honda Civic FC 1.8? Ano ba mga basic upgrades for it? I did installed a HKS legal quad exhaust. What else? From basic to slight advance.

No intention to undermine you or something but if you are going to spend a lot (hundreds of thousands) for mods, you might as well sell that Civic 1.8L and get the Civic 1.5L Turbo instead. If budget is not a concern, go get yourself a WRX.

There is a limit as to modding a car and spending too much for a small gain in output is not worth it. Also, you have to consider that doing mods will throw your car's warranty out of the window.

I think gone are the days na pupunta ka sa Ortigas (in my case Mindanao Ave) tapos you try to hide that your car is actually fast para panalo ka sa pustahan

If you want a fast car... buy a fast car, modding the car will hurt your warranty and the car's resale value.

Improve your driving... Practice makes perfect
Better tires (easiest upgrade)
Improve the way your car breathes. (Intake & Exhaust)
Lessen the weight (remove seats & spare tire, improve aero dynamics)
Improve brakes
Send it to a shop with proper dyno tuning
Upgrade the suspension
Upgrade engine

These do not come cheap so you have to consider how deep your pockets are. A set of grippy and sporty tires in 17" to 19" are around 30k (or more) nowadays plus lightweight rims of similar value, you are looking at around 50-60k. Brake, suspension, and engine mods would cost more than that.

If you want a quick and fast car for the price for the price of a Civic 1.8L, take a look at the Focus 1.5L Ecoboost. Since it already has a turbo engine (rated stock at 180PS/240Nm), a simple ECU mod will even push the power output higher.

But yes, the Civic 1.8E just isn't worth upgrading. If you had planned to upgrade, the RS should've been your choice from the start.

Don't fret though, just work towards becoming a better driver. Your bone-stock Civic 1.8E can have better laptimes than much faster and lighter cars. [emoji6]

Hey I made it 2 weeks without going past 200. [emoji23]

Watching The Grand Tour while on cruise control really helps. Finished season 1 already. Almost done with season 2, I need some new distraction so I still keep below 120 kph during my expressway driving. [emoji23]

I miss nice long drives. Nagagawa ko dati yun with the MT FD pero ngayon panay city traffic driving na, to the point na ayaw ko pa palitan yung gulong kahit umuugong na haha.

Yup... Wala naman mura when it comes to "upgrading" a car...

Pero as I said, start with practice (to be a better driver) then upgrade the tires!

Once upgraded na yung car... Lalakas naman sa gas I've been there in college... Nauwi sa benta car ko since naubos allowance ko sa gas

As what you have said in an earlier post, it is much better to just buy a more powerful and quicker car in the first place than having to buy a less capable car and spend too much in modding it but with no guarantee in output gains.
