    Not as noticeable as before yung change ng idling. Dati kasi dati sa sobrang quiet ng engine pag nasa stoplight ako na matagal, bigla ako mapapacheck ng auto kung umaandar ba talaga. hehe.

    I'd guess as the car gets older, umiingay yung makina. Dati ganiyan din yung FD namin out of the casa. I've actually started the car again nung naka on na (heard unnerving buzzing sound, do not want to hear that ever again).

    Now on idle and at low RPM rinig ko na yung makina kahit aircon off.

    Doesn't seem to be a problem with turning the aircon on as soon as you turn on the car. We have a 12 year old Camry going strong despite having the AC on full blast right on engine start (hit the AUTO button hehe).

    Yung MAF sensor, baka lemon part lang nakuha mo? :/

    Habit ko rin yan, turn the key then push auto. hehe. I am paranoid nga that I got a lemon car kasi during warranty period, casa had to replace a part in the AC kasi biglang umingay, blower motor ata. Yung power steering ko pinaltan din (45k+) within warranty kasi nabibigatan ako sa steering minsan, sabi ng casa okay naman hindi nila na experience during testing but they will replace it anyway I guess my only consolation e maayos kausap yung casa. But still nakakainis na kaya ka nga nag brand new para walang abala at sakit ng ulo.

    idle surge can be caused by unmetered air going into engine

    In other words baka may singaw.

    Joke lang... If I remember correctly, yung altis ng sister ko before ganyan din. May surge ng idle paminsan minsan, Lalo na sa shifting.

    Compression test, maf sensor check, binarahan ko intake. All signs ok. Kaya I did not worry about it anymore.

    This was a 2004 model.

    Wow salamat sa thread na to. I learned a lot sa mga insights. Well, I had that knocking sound dn, then we changed all the Spark plugs and it was eliminated. And we also found out na, we need to do an overhaul daw and replace piston, since ang makina ko daw ay naninira na ng SP, by merely basing on the significant oil content sa 2 SP ko. Is this true? or a top overhaul will fix this leaking oil in my SP?

    Hi Cath, 96 un skin. lolo na hehe

    As far as I know, pg may knocking sound ka 2 lang ang basic na dpat natin icheck coils and spark plugs. Pag may sira na isa sa 2 na yan tska plg dpat chineck un engine parts.. just like nun skin, nasira na un SP, which ang dahilan e nalunod ng oil, na kng saan may problem na mismo sa makina.

    Ako after reading mula umpisa ng thread na to naniniwala din na walang problem un car mo. mganda ang maintenance mo, minsan tlga need mo mglaan ng oras para mkita mo kng ano un ginagawa ng mekaniko. Ako kc sa Shell ngppatune up, mga 1-2 hours lang tapos na.

    tune up today is not the same tune-up with older cars AFAIK. Funny, because why? tune up today just replace SP and clean air filter. nothing more.

    There are times na kailangan pa rin ng tappet adjustments... Hindi na nga lang stated yun sa manual.

    Sa spark plug, dagdag nyo na yung proper gap

    Naka iridium ako, di ni gagap yun.. Sa mga VVTi rin, murang mura lang replacement ng spark plugs... auto adjust ata yung tappet.

    To reduce engine weight, most engines are now overhead cam with non adjustable cam follower buckets. The only time they need adjusting is after valve lapping or valve grind.
