Just found out na at least CI-4 rating na pala ang Petron Revx x400-800 diesel oils!

I use Hyundai FS 10w30 ci-4 for my daily driven Accent crdi & Kixx PAO C3 5w40 for my Kia Sportage all paired with original oil filters. I previously used Cyclon TDI C3 5w40.

The Hyundai Xteer piqued my interest when I was searching for my next oil change candidate.
So far halos siya na pinakamura na nakita ko na 100% synthetic even among the VHVI based oils.
Yung Ultra Protection variant nila na API SP/GF6 na can ba had for only Php1,160/Gal.

But I had my cynical eye given the unbelievable price point so I searched a little further.
It almost ticked the most important boxes save for my reservation at its VI (157) and TBN of 6.9.
Well, not bad. It's still good for the regular 6 mos. or 5,000km OCI, but doing the math parang di rin nakakatipid.
I do extended OCIs at 1 year so switching will add up to 2,000+ for oil plus 2 filters plus 2 service charge.
So back to TGMO 5w30 API SP for me with VI of 173 and TBN of 9.0, just what I need for my extended OCI.

Dagdag mo pa ang mga misleading labels, like claiming "synthetic" when it could be a blend.
Not that I'm expecting PAO based oils at less than 1.5k, as pwede na ako sa mga VHVI oils for my uses.

Exactly, sa casa 1900 ata ang full package using Honda genuine regular oil, if I use the Hyundai xteer na ipagpalagay na natin na hindi fake but "mislabeled" regular oil din plus buy outside ng oil filter, crush washer plus labor, ganun din ang cost. The difference lies in the level of "convenience" or how much you value your time.

Change oil outside will just take you 30 minutes. Sa casa, ung guaranteed "quick" nila is 1 hour, and that starts after you wait in line for 1 hour for your service to be processed.

The same goes for carwash, which is why I wash my car myself.

Nakupo, almost 4,000 na pala. Hanap na lang talaga ng viable alternative. So check you usage.
Actually, kahit yung mga highways natin eh restricted lang tayo to 100kph, then di rin naman kalayuan at just 300km or so.

I'm just beginning to understand that these 'cheap' Zic, Hyundai, etc. "fully/ 100% synthetic" engine oils are mostly from VHVI base oils.
That is, unlike yung mga PAO or Group IV base oils, these are Group II/ Group III hydrocracked oils to have those PAO characteristics.
So tanggap ko rin na sa mga usual use case scenario sa atin, these can already offer enough protection better than mineral oils.
You get the benefits of pure synthetic oils (up to a point), at a mineral or semi-synthetic oil price point.

But then I can also understand the others who chose to pay for their peace of mind.

At least walang waiting time.

Base number 6.9mgKOH. It is average. No need to think that this oil will last for long change intervals. This is oil for 200-250 hours in our difficult conditions. If converted to kilometers, it will be somewhere around 5000-7500km.

NOACK mass evaporation at high temperatures = 8.2% - a good result. This oil has a very low waste consumption. If you have an elderly Japanese or Korean who has an expense. Here is a cheap and low-burning oil for you.

According to the viscosity characteristics, everything is mixed correctly. It's really an API standard, ILSAC. Within its class, it is thick and strong. A low viscosity index indicates that there is not a lot of polymer thickener in the oil. That is, Xteer should keep its viscosity well under heavy loads.

Unlike the original oils, there is a big plus. It is rare, not popular and is not faked by anyone. In addition, the price tag is very cheap, you can’t make much on a fake.

Hyundai Xteer Gasoline Ultra Protection 5W-30 API SP - Russia Oil Club Forum

It had been said many times na nga that we're wasting too much oil lalo sa mga gumagamit ng premium ones.
Mostly they were designed for 10k or 20k extended OCIs pero 5k pa lang (or less) eh change oil na kaagad.
Although in every OCI I check my filter and mukhang okay lang siya for that 1-year period.

Like me kung gagamit ako ng 10k or 20k oil ngayon eh in 1 year baka nasa 5k or less lang ako (~100x54 = 5,400km/yr).
Dati nung nag-oopisina pa ako sakto lang sa akin yung 10k or 1-year OCI (30x7x54 = 11,340km/yr).
Eh karamihan ngayon including mga car owners eh naka-WFH so mga low mileage lang in one year.

after using amsoil sa strada so far ok siya sakin compared sa casa oil. quieter and a lot smoother. less noise sa arangkada.

    CF

i think its no question that amsoil is one of the better brands out there. ang question lang ay ang presyo it is one of the more expensive ones.

Based on my experience parang pare pareho lang ang performance ng oil sa car ko. I've tried Mobil 1 FS, Honda Genuine Mineral and a lot of other FS and mineral oils, regardless if they are fake or not, may time talaga na parang magaan ang takbo at meron ding time na para kang may hinihila.

Except one time when I used 20w50, na nabibigatan ako sa hila, I don't know if it's psychological, because everytime I use the car, first thing that goes to my mind is nasilaw ako dahil mura itong Toyota genuine oil only to learn later na mura talaga ang 20w50. But if I press the pedal harder, responsive naman sya.

full synthetic daw. mura. shows a real API donut so it's officially certified (xteer for example doesn't show the donut)

pero walang acea ratings so it has the same specs as a 10w30 mineral oil like valvoline premium conventional or havoline formula. similar price as these two mineral oil also

Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?
